Issue with Linux watchdog timer where system did not restart for NUC10i5FN

Hello,

We are an iot company using nucs in our products.

Currently with the NUC10i5FNHN1 we have problems with the watchdog with ubuntu 20.

Initialization seems all fine but it never restart.

iTCO_wdt: Intel TCO WatchDog Timer Driver v1.11
iTCO_wdt: Found a Intel PCH TCO device (Version=6, TCOBASE=0x0400)
iTCO_wdt: initialized. heartbeat=30 sec (nowayout=0)

Our issue seems identical to this issue in the forum https://community.intel.com/t5/Intel-NUCs/Issue-with-Linux-watchdog-timer-where-system-did-not-resta...

We updated the bios to the latest version but it still doesn't work.

Thanks in advance!

Hello,

I am attempting to use the WDT on a NUC10i7FNK with Ubuntu 20.04 and am having the same issue.  Can we get an update on this case?

Thanks!

@null_ptr Last week they gave me a bios to test and it's working fine.
I don't know the next steps but we are on track.

Hi Steven,

Yes, I reply the private email the same day.  The new bios is working fine. I could use the watchdog without any issues.

Let me know if you need another test.

Thanks again!

@Steven_Intel

This is fantastic news!  Is there any chance I can get a copy of the test version as well?  I'd like to verify on my setup.

Do you have an estimate for the firmware lead time?

Thanks!

@mgiachetti - Any chance  you could post the BIOS update in this thread so that I can test on my system?

DBIOS should never be shared and certainly not in the public forum. I sympathize with your situation, but you will just have to wait for the production BIOS to be released.

@n_scott_pearson Understood.  I would gladly take the BIOS via email as was supplied to @mgiachetti .  Is that something we can setup?

No, 'we' can't setup anything. I am retired and just a volunteer here. @Steven_Intel can check into whether this would be possible. Don't get your hopes up.
