Greetings! I am aware that there are multiple threads regarding both 4k or HDR, but none seem to address my specific circumstances. I have a brand spanking new NUC7i3BNH connected to a Denon AVRX3400H receiver, which in turn is connected to a Vizio P65-C1 TV. I have confirmed that both the TV and receiver are both 4k and HDR compatible. I have updated to the latest BIOS for the Nuc and Windows 10 is fully up to date. When resolution is set to 4k, the slider for HDR in Windows 10 will not work. I flip it to On, screen goes blank for a few seconds, then it asks if I want to keep the settings, but HDR is Off again. If I change the resolution to 1080P, HDR stays on. That's issue 1.
Issue 2 is when I leave resolution set to 4k and launch Power DVD. Power DVD turns on HDR (while still at 4k), but the audio stops working. If I switch inputs on the receiver and then switch back, audio is back, but the receiver seems to only receive a Dolby Digital signal no matter what audio is selected. Once back in Windows, HDR goes back to being disabled, but audio works fine, which was confirmed by launching the Windows Dolby Access program and watching one of the videos to confirm the receiver sees a Dolby Atmos signal.
Is this a bandwidth issue? Is there something I'm doing wrong? I'm using https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00SI1J98W/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00SI1J98W/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 for cables, which I believe are capable of doing this?
The only solution that I've seen that seems to work for everyone is to use a USB-C to HDMI converter, but from what I read it seems that it is used in conjunction with the built-in HDMI so it seems it's separating audio to one HDMI and video to the other, which won't work in my scenario.

I don't know if this would have solved it or not because I sent it back, but I found a setting in the Denon. In the video section, there is a 4k option for standard or enhanced, enhanced being the setting for HDR10.

Thank you very much for contacting the Intel® Communities Team, Twerthi.
Can you please describe how this whole system is connected? I would like to know the cables you are using and if there is any type of dongle connected. Furthermore, please provide me with the .txt file that the https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/Intel-System-Support-Utility-for-Windows- System Support Utility will generate. To attach a file, you must click the "Attach" option on the bottom right-hand corner of the response box.
Once you receive your new unit, please share with us the results.

Antony,
Thank you very much for replying, however I no longer hate the NUC to test with. I strongly suspect that my issue was related to the receiver being in Standard 4k mode as the description for Enhanced mode indicated it was for displays with HDR capability. The only other part that still may not have worked is the losing audio after TV mode switching. PowerDVD does vertical frequency switching based on what it's playing (30hz for standard DVD, 24hz for Blu Ray), whenever my TV switched modes, I still lost audio which does not occur with my current system using a radeon HD 5450.

Thank you very much for your reply, Twerthi.
I am sorry for the misunderstanding, I thought that the NUC was sent for a replacement.
In this case, for me to perform a deeper research about this issue I will require having the information previously requested. In the case you suspect the issue is the receiver you can double check this issue with the https://denon.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/103/~/denon-technical-support Denon*Support Team.

If it's possible to be loaned a NUC, I would be more than happy to provide additional data, and send it back of course.

Thank you very much for your reply, Twerthi.
In this case, we do not lease our units, you can always get one from our resellers nonetheless; if you can get one by any other source you can post it here and we will be more than glad to assist you further.
