It has been a recurring issue since at least last year. Sometimes it will happen several days in a row, sometimes it will be okay for a couple weeks in a row, but the issue is never gone for long.
This is for an Asus Republic of Gamers Laptop bought in 2016. The wireless adapter is the original for the computer.
In the short term, sometimes I am able to get through the issue by turning my wifi off, waiting a while, then turning it back on, but it is unclear to me if my actions actually did anything. I hadn't previously been able to find much info on how to handle my issue, so the only other thing I recall going through with was changing a setting on the wireless adapter to uncheck "allow computer to turn off this device to save power," but that did not appear to appreciably help me much.
Thanks for your help.

Hello BIiam
· Is the Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 original adapter of the system?
· Do you have any error code on the system (Device Manager)?
· Please complete a clean installation of the wireless driver in the system (https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000022173/network-and-i-o/wireless-networking.html) and installed the driver provided by ASUS* (https://www.asus.com/us/ROG-Republic-Of-Gamers/ROG-G751JT/HelpDesk_Download/).

I followed the instructions for the clean installation. However, when I went to do the new install of the driver from the page you linked me to, my computer gave me a message that there is a newer version of the driver and it defaulted to that. It does not seem to have worked as I have experience my previous issues again.

Hello
- BIiam thank you for the reply if the system is automatically installing a newer version (not the OEM driver provided) I would recommend completing the clean installation of the wireless driver without an internet connection to avoid automatic updates; if the system still installs a driver on the system this could be because the loading previous wireless drivers, in that case, it is recommended completing the clean installation of the wireless driver process several times.
- rvela5 I recommend creating a new thread to isolate you case and system configuration, please make sure you add the information of the system model and specs, detail information of the problem that you are having, plus all the information that you have added to this thread, so we can get more information about the problem.

Hello BIiam
If you have been able to follow the steps to complete the clean installation of the wireless drier on the system and the behavior is still happening, I would recommend reaching out ASUS* to evaluate the hardware on the system since the behavior could be related to a hardware problem.
