Laptop X15, NUC Software Studio, and Color Calibration

LAPKC71F is my official model number- I'm using NUC software studio 1.21.17111.0

The "Display" settings section of software applies a custom color profile/overlay to both

the laptop main display and any other external monitors.  Here are my issues:

*"Standard" setting is not neutral/off- it jacks up the gamma on both monitors

*"Custom" I can use to get desired calibration, but this is sometimes overwritten by windows applying other calibration settings when I go into windows display settings

*"Custom" settings apply to both laptop display and external monitors- if I get it right for one, it's not right for the other.

*Calibrating using windows calibration or 3rd party software is overwritten when launching or using NUC software studio.

Bottom line is, I can't obtain and maintain a proper color profile.

Is there any way to disable this display setting functionality? I'm glad to edit registry, whatever it takes.  Thanks in advance.

• The issue has been present since day one you install the software?
• Was there any major change that may have affected the software?
• Can you replicate the issue using the latest software version 1.4.22.2? (https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/19691/intel-nuc-software-studio-service.html)

• Present since day 1, yes
• No major changes
• Is the nuc software studio service applicable to my model?  I am used to using uniwill to support the software studio package.
  • In any event, I do not see any changes after installing

To be clear this is a branded XPG Xenia 15 KC, essentially a LAPKC71F with adata branded ssd and ram.

I noticed that your unit is not on the list for supported products for the Intel® NUC Software Studio Shows, which may explain why the software has been having issues since day 1. The compatible product list is the following:

• Intel® NUC 11 Enthusiast kit - NUC11PHKi7C
• Intel® NUC 11 Enthusiast mini pc - NUC11PHKi7CAA

Hi... I'm replying yet again to another long dead post but I've found that ColorSustainer was a good workaround for this issue in my experience. The interface is slightly convoluted and I don't remember the default config so you'll have to play around with options, but associate monitors you don't want to apply the Nuc Software Studio color settings to with the "LINEAR" color profile. 

Edit: Upon opening the interface, click "Detect" and it'll list all the monitors connected to the device. By default, it'll give you a whole bunch of resolutions you can associate certain color profiles with for each monitor. But if you right click them it'll give you the option "Change to Global" — click this and it'll associate color profiles with the monitor regardless of resolution (I recommend doing this). 

I guess you could also set this app to run on start, use Task Scheduler, or cmd shortcuts to make this solution a little more elegant. The app supports the command-line parameters -start and -hide to automatically start the process and hide it in the system tray.

As a side perk, it'll also fix the annoying issue of some full-screen apps like games overriding your color profiles. Though this solution is not perfect (relies on polling intervals) and some games may override the color for brief moments
