M.2 SSD randomly lost

Jump to solution

Hi,

I wanted to install a M.2 128G SSD (Kingspec), but I have troubles since my NUC (5i5RYH) randomly lose the SSD.

my second hard drive (1 To SATA HDD), is still seen, but sometimes, after reboot, the SSD (were my OS is installed) is not listed anymore in the SATA BIOS section.

I have to unplug / replug the SSD in its M.2 slot to get it back

The BIOS is the latest available.

what should I do?

Hello moreje,

I understand that your system is only recognizing the drive at times, I apologize for any inconveniences this may be causing.

I would like to know if this system has an operating system already installed or not?

Regarding this, I would also like to know if you have tried a different M.2 SSD or else, that same M.2 SSD on a different system. This is to check and see if the problem is the unit or the SSD, if you haven't and have the possibility, please do so.

Once done, let me know what happens.

Regards,
