Machine check exception on Nuc6I7KyB old Bios needed

hello, i get the error below. the nuc was running fine without problems with different linux versions, at last with proxmox. after updating the bios to the last version i get permanently the machine check exception - if i try to install linux. windows is running fine, no problems, no exception. my hope is to fix this issue with the older bios version, but i can't find older versions in the download center. maybe someone has  an older version of the bios, or the link to the supportpage i can download an older version? and yes, the mem test shows 0 errors at the ende of testing :-).

thanks and regards bernd

I have attached a ZIP file containing latest and a bunch of previous BIO files. Note that, if the BIOS that you just installed was KY0074, there is no way to downgrade as the ME F/W was updated in this release and you cannot downgrade once an ME F/W update is installed.

Hi,  actually the Nuc is running with KYSKLi70.86A0074.2021.1029.0102.

The old Zip-Package contains two files one KY0074 Bios file from 28.10.21 and an UefiFlash File from 11.01.2019 I downloaded it from the official intel website..

As i see it right, i have some 0074 Version installed, but it seems that your 0074 Version ist newer. Can it be?

Maybe i give your 0074er Version a try? If i can't get back to a downgrade and i can't see if there is an MF Firmware update included in my actually used Bios Version...

Any suggestion from your side?

Thank you

Regards Bernd

It's the same BIO file. Do a binary compare of the files to verify.

The thing to attempt is the reinstallation of this BIOS using the jumper-based BIOS Recovery process (documented here: Intel NUC BIOS Update and Recovery Instructions). Once this is complete, use F2 key during the subsequent power-on to enter BIOS Setup and then use F9 key to reset the BIOS Configuration and F10 key to save this reset configuration and exit BIOS Setup. If you have BIOS configuration parameter settings that you absolutely need to use, you can go back into BIOS Setup and modify the configuration after the previous POST is completed.

Hope the helps,

Hi, i set the jumpersettings as described in the link you offert me, inserted a USB stick wie´th the 074er .bio file. But after rebooting it runs into the OS booting after a while, and i can't see that anything is happen regarding to the bios...even if the USB stick is flackering so it is read but there is no message or something else...

Should i see any message during the update? I tried also a second USB stick,

i tried it with the 074er file, so maybe he had done the update, but because the number is the same as before i can't realy check if it the new one. The error Jernel panic still exist...
