My audio goes to my TV through hdmi. Then via optical out to a headphone mixamp. In windows speaker properties for my TV I do not have an enhancements tab. How can I normalize all audio going to my TV?

Hello JDunk1,

Thank you for submitting your question on this Intel® Community.

To better assist you, we would like to gather more information about your system configuration such as system model, OS version, among other useful details.

Please generate a system report with the Intel® System Support Utility (Intel® SSU) and attach it to this thread.

  1. Intel® SSU Download link
  2. Open the application and click on "Scan" to see the system and device information. By default, Intel® SSU will take you to the "Summary View".
  3. Click on the menu where it says "Summary" to change to "Detailed View".
  4. To save your scan, click on "Next", then "Save".

Hello JDunk1,

Thank you for providing more information about your system configuration.

Now that we know that you are using an Intel® NUC 10 Performance kit - NUC10i7FNH, we would like to know if this tab was available before.

  1. Did this "Enhancement tab" disappear after a driver or a Windows* 10 update?
  2. Is this tab available if you connect only the TV to the unit (no adapters, or Mixamp devices), and select the TV as the Default device?
  3. Could you please let us know what you mean by "normalize all audio going to your TV"?

https://pureinfotech.com/normalize-sound-volume-windows-10/ This link explains volume normalization better than I could. I applied all the updates to windows 10 before I tried find the enhancements tab, so to the best of my knowledge the enhancements tab did not disappear after an update. The tab is still not available with only the TV connected and set as the default device. The tabs I have available for speaker properties with my SONY TV XV selected as default and highlighted are General; Supported Formats; Levels; Advanced; and Spatial sound. I hope this answers your questions. Thank you again for your time on this issue.

Hello JDunk1,

We would like to provide an update on your inquiry.

Starting with 6th Generation Intel® Core™ Processors (Skylake), the "Enhancement tab" is no longer available. This is by product design.

Windows* may have a method to accomplish this, but you may need to contact Microsoft to obtain more information about a similar option.

If you have any further questions, please let us know. We will be glad to help you.

Since a whole lot of people has this problem, too, you might consider to re-enable audio normalization because it's a very useful feature and removing it was quite dumb, honestly.
