Hi There,
Does the NUC 12 Extreme require the baseboard and or a chassis to run? From looking at the schematics I don't think so:
Wiring for compute element looks straight forward: https://edc.intel.com/content/www/us/en/publications/specification-nuc12dcm-nuc12edb/signal-tables-for-headers-and-connectors/
And the baseboard PCI part seems to provide a slot for add in cards: https://edc.intel.com/content/www/us/en/publications/specification-nuc12dcm-nuc12edb/block-diagram-nuc-12-extreme-pro-x-kit/
The goal is to set them up like mini blades in something like this for example. (either with a board with non connected PCI to keep them upright, or just bolted on do the back brackets)

On the same topic, is the Nuc12 can also fit on the baseboard of the Nuc 9 ? yes not at pci5 speed, but is the bifurcation will all run on the pci-e x4 and x8 ?
And is the Nuc11 are confirmed to be working too on the Nuc9 baseboard ?
thanks

Hello pete09, I just received an update on this matter.
After reviewing the case, we just wanted to let you know that we don't have any 3rd party board to recommend. You can design or get ODM to design a carrier board for you. The design specifications are available in RDC, doc number 682527:
https://cdrdv2.intel.com/v1/dl/getContent/682527?explicitVersion=true
Opcod34, Thank you for posting in the Intel® Communities Support.
Please submit your inquiry on a new thread, the reason for this is that every scenario is different even if the same product is being used, so for us to better assist you, please submit a new thread:

Let me apologize for any inconvenience.

Hi Pete,
Did you find any solution for this?
10Gbe interface and several M.2 slots combined with powerful CPU looks very tempting even without GPU if it could be used in Compute Element only size. It's smaller than mini-ITX boxes.
At least until we get 10Gbe in standard 4x4 sizes...
