Power on from COLD/ keyboard indicator activates then shuts down after 4 secs system blue led ON continuously. No Video (blank screen)

Remove power/ Restore power computer boots normally and responds normally for the rest of the day including stop/starts.

BIOS updated and restored to latest iteration. might this be a hardware problem

RDavi17, Thank you for posting in the Intel® Communities Support. In reference to your question, yes it could be a hardware problem, but it could be also related to the power cord or any other component. Do you have the option to test the Intel® NUC Kit NUC7i5BNH with a different power cord/adapter on different outlets? Could you please test the unit with the very basic configuration, using just one memory stick with each stick, power cord, keyboard, mouse and one monitor? What is the model of the memory RAM, please provide the speed and voltage? Regards, Alberto R. Intel Customer Support Technician Under Contract to Intel Corporation

Hello @RDavi17

Since your NUC is working good (except the cold start), please ensure that it was completely switched OFF before you leave it for a night.

Please try the following procedure to perform full shutdown from Windows:

Step 1: Open Start menu, select Power button.

Step 2: Press and hold the Shift key on keyboard, while clicking on Shut down, and then release the Shift key to perform a full shutdown.

If after this shutdown, you will be able to power your NUC ON, the problem is in Windows setting.

Leon

RDavi17, Thank you very much for letting us know that information, we are sorry to hear the issue persists. Just to make sure, the proper memory RAM for the Intel® NUC Kit NUC7i5BNH is DDR4-2133 1.2V SO-DIMM, if the memory RAM currently installed is running at 2400MHz, that might be too high for the unit to handle and it might show this kind of behavior. In this case, we recommend to contact your local Intel® customer support department to replace the NUC via phone or chat: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/contact-support.html Regards, Alberto R.
