Hi,
I have a i7BNH and was trying to install an OS on it last night. When connected to my HP Omen 35" screen over HDMI the screen shows no signal. Connecting it to a TV I can see the post and install the Operating System on it. I would like to have Linux (Slackware) on the device but did not get a signal to the screen post installation. Windows however works, but, the screen lights up at the login prompt, so when the operating system already initialised the drivers. I've updated the BIOS and even the HDMI Firmware but can not see the post boot in the screen, only in the TV. Using a 4k TV isn't really an option either because the text looks to smudged on it to have it on a normal workspace.
Anyone know if this is a known issue or can it be fixed? For now I ordered a usb-c to display port adapter but thought I would ask while I wait for it to get delivered.
Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Hello diezel,
Thank you for posting on the Intel® communities.
To better assist you, I would appreciate it if you could provide the following information:
- What is the graphics driver installed in the NUC? Please provide the version.
- Please confirm the BIOS version. Is it 0083?
- Have you checked if the monitor’s firmware is up to date?
- Have you tried this monitor with another computer? Does it work fine via HDMI with other devices?
I was wondering if you have tried the monitor with the USB-C to display port adapter that you ordered. Do you have any update on that?
Also, it’s worth mentioning that the OS that you are trying to install is not fully validated for the
Intel® NUC Kit NUC7i7BNH, therefore, I would like to share with you the Supported Operating Systems for Intel® NUC Products

No go, tried the USB-C to DP adapter but the same issue there. Monitor works fine on all other devices. There are no firmware updates for this monitor. The display driver is not the issue since you can not see post boot, so there is no Operating System running at that time. I tried Ubuntu and it does the same as Windows. The monitor lights up when the operating system is running and has loaded the drivers. But you can not install it with this monitor. Same goes for all tested operating systems.
My workaround, if anyone is looking to do the same. I installed and configured my device connected to a TV, this works fine. Once I have the configuration done, be it Windows, Ubuntu or even Slackware I can move the device and connect it to the monitor and it works like a charm.
If ever I need to troubleshoot the boot I will need to move it back to the TV. A bit of a hassle but it works. To answer some of the questions, yes the BIOS is the latest version.

Hello diezel,
Thank you for the information provided.
I understand that you found a temporary solution. However, I consider that the unit should not behave that way.
I would like to confirm some additional information:
- After you configure the device connected to the TV, how are you connecting the NUC to the monitor? HDMI?
- Currently What is the OS installed?
- This issue occurred only during the installation and configuration of the operating system, correct? After that, Is the monitor working fine with your NUC?
