NUC 717BNH no display

Hi,

I am having issue with my NUC on my first boot

I have tried booting without ssd, still no display, tested SSD on other PC, works w/o any issue.

Tried with one ram, swap ram, etc. Always get solid blue, no issue. w/o ram power button blink's blue.

Also tried a variety of different monitors/hdmi, USB C to hdmi and none working.

SSD:

Hi @JF000

  1. Although the RAM memory you have looks to me meets the requirement of your NUC specifications. it doesn't appears on Intel Validated Memory Modules for your NUC http://compatibleproducts.intel.com/ProductDetails/ExportPeripheralInfo?moduleName=Intel%C2%AE%20NUC... . It could be that this reason that your NUC is not booting. Since this is a new NUC. if you can, borrow an other memory (from laptop?) and try to test your NUC.
  2. Other reason may be failure in your Bios. I suggest that you try to recover bios using Bios recovery method with the Yellow Security Jumper removed. I suggest this method since this is an automatic process, without need to user intervention.
  3. Prepare USB stick fully formatted to FAT32 with Bios file BN0076.bio https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/28640/BIOS-Update-BNKBL357-86A-?product=95065 . Format your USB with Quick Format option unchecked. Do not format your USB in MAC (OS) or Linux machine. Use Windows.
  4. Disconnect the power adapter and remove the bottom panel from your NUC.
  5. Remove the Yellow Bios Security Jumper. See page 59 in Technical Product Specification https://www.intel.com/content/dam/support/us/en/documents/mini-pcs/nuc-kits/NUC7i5BN_NUC7i7BN_TechPr...
  6. Insert the USB with the BN0076.bio file.
  7. Reconnect the power adapter and power ON the NUC. Wait 30 sec - 2min. The Recovery process will start automatically and will end after 2 -5 minutes.
  8. When bios recovery is completed, switch the power OFF, remove the power adapter and replace the Security Jumper (pins 1-2) . Reinstall the bottom panel.
  9. Power your NUC ON.

Leon
