Have you enabled UEFI? Have you ensured that there isn't an old file system on the drive (by deleting all partitions before proceeding with Windows installation)? I would recommend removing the HDD until after the O/S is fully installed.

Scott,

many thanks for your suggestions! I did as you proposed, but the result is still the same . I have the possibility to return defective components if I demonstrate what is wrong with them. Therefor I would be very happy if you could point me to a utility that will identify the culprit.

Thanks in advance

First thing I would do is remove the SSD, the HDD and the SODIMMs and then reinstall just the SSD and the SODIMMs. This often clears up problems with device alignment.

Next, I would ensure that you have the latest available BIOS installed and then reset the BIOS Configuration to defaults (use F2 to enter BIOS Setup (Visual BIOS), use F9 (followed by Y) to reset the configuration and then F10 (followed by Y) to save this configuration and exit) .

After that, download a copy of MemTest86+ and test the SODIMMs thoroughly.

What sort of media are you trying to install Windows 10 from? Did you produce it using the Microsoft tool? If not, download the tool from here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 and use it to download the Windows ISO file. You can also use this tool to create your media or use Rufus. If you use Rufus, make sure you specify to use GPT partitioning for UEFI when formatting the USB flash disk.

That's a good start. I would love to see a translation of the error message above. The translators I have access to cannot translate text in pictures.

Thanks for your support!

I regret having asked the community for support! Only now have I removed one 4GB module and ran the test and than repeated this with the modules exchanged. Now this NUC is working properly with 4 GB of memory. I have ordered one 8GB module to replace it and will let you know if something unexpected happens

I am a bit ashamed to have asked for your support without having strongly applied Occams Razor first.
