NUC HDMI ARC

Hello

I am using my NUC8iBEH as an media station Connected to my Onkyo avr and sony Bravia tv.

I am using an EGPU. But when i diconnect the EGPU and connect the HDMI cablle to the NUC.

My sony tv has really problems to get the sound to my onkyo. With the EGPU connected everything works perfect. 

I suspect that the NUC HDMI is the problem.

Just to confirm, could you please provide a detailed description of how are you connecting the Intel® NUC with the Sony TV and the Onkyo AVR, provide the video ports being used and if you are using adapters or converters?

 

Just for testing purposes, if you connect the Intel® NUC directly to the monitor/TV, is the problem the same?

What is the model of the EGPU and which video ports are you using to connect it?

Well i manage to get sound on my Sony  when i am using the Nuc/windows. It is when i am changing to the android on the Sony TV there are no sound when i am using the HDMI port on my Nuc.. But when i am using the HDMI port on my Egpu every thing works perfectly. this make me suspect that the HDMI port on the Nuc has some problems.

i am connecting all my HDMI devices to my Onkyo tx rz800 and then one HDMI cable to my Sony TV.

All the drivers and bios are the latest on mu Nuc

Just to make sure, if you connect the Intel® NUC directly to the Sony TV using the HDMI port then there is no problem, the sound is coming out from the TV, is that right?

What do you mean when you said" I am changing to the android on the Sony TV" could you please explain that?

When did you purchase the Intel® NUC?

Waas it working fine before?

Did you make any recent hardware/software changes?

Did you install the HDMI firmware update for the Intel® NUC?

I tried to install the hdmi Firmware update. Did not work. Error massage from the tool. "System connection failed!" and "ISP failed"

I also tried to connect the hdmi directly from the NUC to the sony TV. The HDMI update tool did not there either.

Adroid is the SMART TV software on my Sony TV.

I purchased it at local store in Sweden. called Netonet

If you are having problems with the Receiver connected, connecting the TV directly to the NUC would be pretty much a requirement for running the F/W update tool.

From this attempt (or a repeat of it), please attach the BobcatAuxISPTool.log file produced.

Did you try using the alternative method (i.e. the BobcatISP command line tool)?

Tried the command line option and it says FAILED. It seems because i use an EGPU the the sofware get confused because there are two Display drivers in my windows 10. One amd for my NUC and one Nvidia for my EGPU.

Well, I guess you will need to disconnect you eGPU while you do this.

Post the log file for your attempt with TV directly connected to HDMI port.

Solved the HDMI upgrade firmware. But  it did not solve the sound issue. No sound in smart tv mode. Sound from windows 10 still works
