why Windows Update installed 'Fortemedia Driver' this 03/Jun/2019?

 

This component is not listed on Device Manager>Sound, video and game controllers

 

It is mentioned at Intel Smart Sound Technology page.

On my NUC8i7HVK I can see it in Device Manager>Software components

Yes, Leon! You're right, there it is.

 

Was it always there, or it is a new component? Did your Windows Update also install this new driver? Why not 'Intel Driver & Support Assistant'?
