Hi
Today my NUC doesn't want to boot.
When I press the power button led becomes amber for a couple of seconds and the NUC switches off after that.
I tried to disconnect the battery for 15 min but it did not help.
What could be the reason?

Hi Leon,
I have left my NUC with the disconnected CMOS battery for a night and it works in the morning.
But I am a bit confused now. If the reason is a CMOS battery problem, how to change it. The battery looks hard connected to the board in a black plastic cover so I am not sure it is possible to change it.

Hi @Aido
1. Please give more details - what is your NUC model? what event proceeded this failure?
2. Can you boot into Power Button Menu? In order to boot into this menu, press and hold Power Button for three seconds (count 1001, 1002, 1003, 1004) and then release it.

Thank you, Leon
1. The model - I have to check in the office. I think there was a power failure. The back-ups was disconnected so the nuc lost power unexpectantly.
2. I cannot boot at all. There is nothing on the monitor. Everything takes about 3 sec
It looks like this
1. I press the power button
2. After a second it becomes amber
3. After 1-2 seconds nuc clicks and switches off

It's not hard connected. The battery is encased in plastic, but has a short cord and plugs into the board. It also has double-sided foam tape that is used to keep it in place. It is easy to remove and replace (just replace the piece of double-sided tape at the same time).
As for getting a replacement battery, there are all sorts available on Amazon, but you have to be careful because any that are (also) intended for Dell systems are wired differently (leads swapped).
Hope this helps,
...S

Ah so...
Ok, thank you, Scott.
I'll try to replace it...
