NUC hangs at Intel bios logo when USB 3.0 of 4 Tb HDD is connected

Jump to solution

Hello

I have an Intel NUC D34010WYK. When a USB flash drive or an external 2Tb HDD is connected, I have no problem booting the device.

BUT I just bought a 4 Tb HDD (2.5") and when it is connected, the Nuc won't boot, it gets stuck on the Intel Nuc logo, without being able to even go to the Bios.

Of course the latest bios is installed, I'm very frustrated with this situation...

Hello piechdibi,

Thank you for contacting Intel Communities.

I am sorry to hear you are having boot issues when the 4TB external drive is connected to the Intel® NUC. Please try https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/boards-and-kits/intel-nuc-kits/000024043.html these steps and let me know if the issue persists.

Best Regards,

Enter BIOS setting and in Boot Order disable the Legacy boot.
