NUC i7-8559U sporadisch kein Internet

To specify the error. The connection to the router remains established but the "globe symbol" is then displayed in the status bar and the error message is "no internet". But all other devices connected to the router via W-Lan work fine.

herbb, Thank you for posting in the Intel® Communities Support.

I just wanted to check if the problem of losing Internet connection when using the Intel® NUC Kit NUC8i7BEH still persists and if you need further assistance on this matter?

Hello, herbb, Thank you very much for your response, we will be more than glad to further assist you with this scenario.

In order for us to provide the most accurate assistance, we just wanted to confirm a few details about your system:

What is the model of the Router?

Is this a new Intel® NUC?

Was it working fine before?

Did you make any recent hardware/software changes?

When did the issue start?

Did you check with your Internet service provider to make sure the Internet is working properly?

Does the problem happen at home or work environment?

Any questions, please let me know.

Dear Albert,

following the answers to your questions:

What is the model of the Router?

Compal ch6640e

I´ve tried it in addition with the neighbor´s router. Other Router model, the NUC issue remains.

Is this a new Intel® NUC?

Yes, it’s a new one, a couple of months old.

Was it working fine before?

No, the error exists since I have the NUC. Sometimes the NUC works fine and the loss of the internet connection happens only twice a day. Sometimes it happens every ten minutes. All other devices connected to the same Router over WLan are working fine.

Did you make any recent hardware/software changes?

No. I made the regular Windows updates and the updates over the Intel driver and support assistance.

When did the issue start?

Since I bought the NUC.

Did you check with your Internet service provider to make sure the Internet is working properly?

As mentioned the connection with other devises connected to the same WLan Router are working fine. I did the test and streamed a TV program over the NUC and in parallel over my I-Pad. The NUC lost the connection several times and the I Pad was working fine.

Does the problem happen at home or work environment?

At home.

Best regards and Thank you for your help.

Hi herbb, You are very welcome, thank you very much for providing that information.

In the link below you will find the Advanced Intel® Wireless Adapter Settings, there are some troubleshooting steps that we can try. Since the Intel® Intel® NUC Kit NUC8i7BEH works with the Intel® Wireless-AC 9560 card:

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000005585/network-and-i-o/wireless-networking.html

  • Set the Wireless Mode to VHT mode or 802.11ac only.
  • Test bot bands separartely on 2.4Ghz and also on 5Ghz
  • Setup Advance\Channel Width for 2.4Ghz and 5.0Ghz on 20Mhz Mode (forced from Auto to 20Mhz)
  • Disable the Fast BSS Transition Roaming

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000005585/network-and-i-o/wireless-networking.html

Please let us know the rsults of trying the steps above.

Dear Albert,

thx for asking.

I did two things:

  • I changed the „Setup Advance\Channel Width to 2.4Ghz“ and
  • I installed the last graphics driver update

Then it worked two days without any problem

Then changed the „Setup Advance\Channel Width“ back to the standard setting.

The NUC work since then without any interruption.

Is it possible that the graphics driver update has fixed the error?

Best regards

herbb

herbb, You are very welcome, thank you very much for sharing those results.

Perfect, excellent, it is great to hear that the Intel® NUC Kit NUC8i7BEH is now working properly and there are no more problems with the Internet connection.

Regarding your question, yes, it is possible, not very common that a Wireless problem gets fixed by installing the latest Intel® Graphics driver, but it could happen. Keep in mind also that Windows* is constantly installing updates so probably it has to do with that as well.

Any other inquiries, do not hesitate to contact us again.
