As above, I have an HDR monitor and the latest Intel UHD Graphics card is supposed to support HDR - so where is it?

Hello JChas2,
Thank you for posting on the Intel® communities.
You can try the following:
go to System Preferences -> Display -> Turn on the slider that says "Play HDR apps and games". The screen should go blank for a few seconds then HDR should be enabled.
Best regards,
Adrian M.

Can you please provide me with the following details: display brand and model, how are you connecting to the display (HDMI ?), did you try with different cables?
Thanks,

Samsung CRG9 Monitor (5120 x 1440). Drivers installed. I am connecting straight from HDMI port on the NUC. I have also tried two other cables and used a TB 3 to HDMI adapter.

Hello JChas2,
Thank you for your response.
Can you please provide us the following reports and attach them to the thread:
1. Intel® System Support Utility (Intel® SSU)
- Intel® SSU Download link
- Open the application and click on "Scan" to see the system and device information. By default, Intel® SSU will take you to the "Summary View".
- Click on the menu where it says "Summary" to change to "Detailed View".
- To save your scan, click on "Next", then "Save".
2. DXDIAG
- Go to Start > Run or Windows Key + R.
- On the Run prompt, type "dxdiag" then click OK.
- On the DirectX Diagnostic Tool window, click on Save All Information.
- Browse to a folder, type in a filename then click Save.
Make sure your system is up to date and you have the latest drivers:
- Check that you are running the latest Windows build version or later than 1709 RS3
- If possible test a different monitor/TV.
- Try to set a lower resolution than 5120 x 1440 for testing porpuses.
- Intel® Software Guard Extensions (Intel® SGX) for Intel® NUC
- Intel® Management Engine Consumer Driver for Windows® 10 64-bit for NUC10i7FN, NUC10i5FN, NUC10i3FN
- BIOS 0038
Note:
if any of the steps above do not work, for testing porpuses can you please try the following driver:
Steps:
- Go to apps and features in Windows settings.
- Find the Intel Graphics Driver.
- Click on Intel Graphics Driver then Uninstall it.
- The system must go through a restart to complete the uninstall process.
- If no older drivers are stored in the system, the graphics controller in device manager should now be listed as 'Microsoft Basic Display Adapter', 'Standard VGA Graphics Adapter' or similar.
- Run the graphics driver you downloaded from our website.
- Follow the wizard installation.
Best regards,
Adrian M.

Progress of sorts....I swapped to using a TB3 to DisplayPort adapter and HDR now works! So looks like a problem with HDMI only. BUT....I still cannot update the video driver to the latest, because it won;t allow 5120 x 1440. Please see my other post....

Hi Adrian, thanks for the quick reply. Please find the info requested attached. I can confirm I have updated everything (except the video driver!). As mentioned, HDR now working on Display Port, but latest drivers do not support the 5120 x 1440 res. Thanks! John

Hello JChas2,
I would like to update the thread.
Regarding the resolution 5120 x 1440 you can try to use graphics version 26.20.100.7372 available here https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/29127/Intel-Graphics-Windows-10-DCH-Drivers?product=197533, we understand that this is not the latest driver however we are currently working on new releases to better address this matter.
Also, upon checking the user guide for Samsung CRG9 monitor in order to enable the HDR effect for the HDMI port, you need to set HDMI Mode to 2.0 in the OSD menu.
Hope this helps and thank you for your feedback.
Best regards,
Adrian M.

Hi Adrian, yes per the other thread, 7372 works fine on DisplayPort including res and HDR.
On HDMI (set to 2.0 on the monitor) res is fine, but no HDR slider visible and clicking on "Windows HD Color Settings" causes the desktop display to crash with some crazy flickering, black screen and other display issues. Ctrl Alt Del allows a shutdown.

Hello JChas2,
Thank you for your reply.
We tested the same Intel® NUC model and we were able to get HDR via HDMI.
Can you please try to test a different HDMI* cable 2.0 or a different monitor for testing porpuses.
Also, I can see that regarding the resolution 5120 x 1440, there is an answer on the other thread.
Best regards,
Adrian M.
