I'm having a problem with my Intel NUC.
Twice now I have left it down powered over a weekend only to come back to it and find it won't turn on. I check the power supply every time and can confirm it works, but there is no life from the PC. The led doesn't flash and the internal fan doesn't begin to spin up when the button is pressed.
The first time I sent it back for repair with the supplier only for them to report the system was working without fault on arrival and return it to me. Upon return it was indeed working and stayed working for several weeks until this happened again.
This time after going through the basic checks and confirming that nothing like the power supply was wrong, I left it disconnected from the mains for a day, when I plugged it back in the NUC worked again.
I contacted my supplier but they have advised me to contact yourselves directly.
I have tried to use your online ticket system but it is currently broken and will not create a ticket no matter how many times I try with different browsers or PC's.
Can I get some assistance here?

Hello AleHall,
Thank you for joining this community.
I understand that you want to you are having boot issues with your unit.
In order for me to assist you better, please provide me with the .txt file that the System Support Utility will generate. To attach a file, you must click the "Attach" option on the bottom right-hand corner of the response box.
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/Intel-System-Support-Utility-for-Windows- https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/Intel-System-Support-Utility-for-Windows-
As, well, we would like you to test unit on a minimal environment:
Remove and reinstall the memory modules (RAM) to make sure they are fully seated in the sockets. If you installed two memory modules, try removing one of them. If you installed one memory module in an Intel NUC that has two memory slots, try moving it to the other memory slot.
Try a different hard drive or SSD or reseat the current one. Boot failures have been observed if a drive is defective. If you don't have an alternative SSD/HDD, please check whether this drive is displayed in BIOS [under Advanced - Devices - SATA tab]
Please let us know if the unit's light behaves somehow in the way that this article specifies: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000005845/mini-pcs.html?_ga=2.204465488.112... https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000005845/mini-pcs.html?_ga=2.204465488.112...
In addition, please go ahead and try our Online Boot Wizard, to enforce the diagnosis of your unit:
https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/topics/wizard-nuc.html https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/topics/wizard-nuc.html
I hope this helps, please let me know the outcome.
Regards,
Diego S.

Thanks for your response.
I've attached the File as requested.
Right now the NUC seems to be working fine again. I've checked the windows event log and there are no recorded incidents of critical failures that could tie into when the system wouldn't turn on.
When it happened I did check the ram chips were seated properly and attempted to power up the computer without the hard drive inserted to see if i could at least get to the BIOS but there was no change no matter what I did.
I followed the wizard but a lot of it isn't useful simply because when this happens there is no life in the NUC. not even the fan or front led will turn on. If the device had been on I would suspect some sort of thermal protection had tripped as over the weekend it was very hot but I'm not sure how that would work when the system is off.
But the computer will recover if left removed from the mains for long enough which suggests something hardware related.

Hello AleHall
Thank you for your response.
Based on the report that you attached to the forum, we noticed that your BIOS is currently under the 0041, while the latest BIOS for your machine is 0055.
Since there is a big gap between versions, we strongly recommend you to go little by little when updating the bios jumping 2 or 3 versions from the one that you have until you reach the latest one.
You can start with the 0045 version and then jump to 0048 and so on.
Here is the download link for the 0045 version:

If you have any doubts on how to perform the update, you can take this guide as a reference:

Last but not least, we would like to inquire into the CPU's performance, please run a test through our Intel® Processor Diagnostic Tool, found here:

I hope this helps, please let us know the outcome, and feel free to attach the results of the test.
Best Regards,
Diego S.

Ok I can see that, I have run through as said and updated my Bios so its now running 0055.
I used the CPU diagnostic tool and have received a failure during the temperature checks, I've attached the logs from the test in a .txt file.
after failing at the 100C test it then says temperature monitor stopped by user but I haven't intervened in any way, is this just a result of the failure?
