Does anyone know if the NUC 11 Essential Kit Pentium Silver N6005 (NUC11ATKPE) has a fan or is passively cooled? I've searched everywhere but could not find this info.

It is actively cooled using a blower (no NUC uses a fan).

Okay thanks for that. I'm pretty sure a blower is considered a fan.

Oh Oh - there is a distinct difference between a blower and a fan.   Scott will explain...<G>

Most definitely not. A blower is laterally moving air while a fan is vertically moving air. They are considered quite distinct from each other.

In that case, the NUC bios should refrain from referring to the active cooling as 'Fan Speed'.

Yea, technically they should, but there have been too many years of them saying 'fan speed control'. It's really what it is (from the EC standpoint), there just happens to be a blower in use.

Yes a blower fan. Still technically a fan.
