Despite having the options set in the BIOS (BIOS.jpg), the function hotkeys are never displayed during POST (see POST1.jpg and POST2.jpg). This was happening with 0041 (the original firmware rev) and I just updated to 0048 (the latest available) and it hasn't improved. I tried unchecking and re-checking the "POST Function Hotkeys Displayed" option but that didn't change the behavior.

Turn off Secure Boot and see if the function keys are displayed.

Yes, disabling secure boot caused the display of the fkeys to appear. Of course, I got the "Bitlocker" message at OS boot requiring entry of the key or to enable secure boot again.
Thanks for that tip. Interesting, though, 'cause I wouldn't have expected that to be related. Seems odd... But, I guess I revert to just putting a label on the body of the NUC so I can remember which keys are which. Which brings up the old, "Why can't the BIOS Fkeys be standardized across vendors?" Some want delete, some want F2, I can't keep them all straight.

With Sercure Boot on, even though the keys are not displayed, they will still work.
I have seen bios updates lately correcting this display issue.

Yes, understood; I have been able to use them. The issue was the discrepancy between instructing the BIOS to display them and the fact they don't display.

Hello IronRod,
Thank you for posting on the Intel® communities. I am sorry to know that you are having issues with your Intel® NUC 11 Performance kit - NUC11PAHi3.
Before we continue further, I would like to know if the issue with the BIOS function keys persists.

Yes, the issue still occurs but, to clarify, the Fkeys work but, despite having set the BIOS to show the Fkey actions during POST, they do not display unless the firmware (FW) has "Secure Boot" disabled. Obviously, that is not preferable -- especially on Windows system where it is pretty much essential these days. Plus, there is nothing in the options to set the Fkey display that indicates "Secure Boot" must be disabled. Given that, this seems like a defect in the FW.
So, the solution would be to fix this FW so that "Secure Boot" can be enabled and still set the options to display Fkeys during post -- as indicated has been done in other FW by an early respondent.

No, if this is resolved in 49, I will apply that once it becomes available and retest. Thanks.
