Hi, running into an issue trying to install Zorin 16.2 on an IntelNUC11PAHi5 - NUC runs Windows11 and Linux Mint fine. Tried a separate new SSD so no issue/conflict with boot manager. Zorin installer goes to a black screen and machine hangs.
Secureboot is disabled. Multiple USB's used, multiple download images of 16.2 used and USB BalenaEtcher and Rufus (current versions) used. The NUC installs LinuxMint fine. Zorin 16.2 goes to a black screen with all combination of USB, ISO and USB creation tool when I pick Install/Try using normal, safe, nvidia drivers - it doesn't even start the check routine.
Running Linux Mint 21 "Vanessa" Cinnamon Edition in the meantime - same USB used for install -- Kernel 5.15 and an Ubuntu 22.04 package base.
Tried Zorin 16.1 and 16.2 and been through troubleshooting with the Zorin support community.
USB verified working on another machine and a VM - so pointing towards the installer and NUC video card?
Forced video to use HDMI and turned off other options.
NUC running latest BIOS - BIOS is latest PATGL357.0048.2022.0801.1148
Any ideas?

Hello GeordiePaul,
Thank you for posting on the Intel️® communities.
About your question, we have validated some Operating systems to work with our Intel® NUC products and we have the listed on our Compatibility website. However, there is no information about the operating systems you are mentioning (Linux Zorin 16.2); it doesn't mean that the Operating Systems are not supported on the units, but there is uncertainty as to whether or not they would work.
Best regards,
Jean O.

Hi and thanks, I just hoped someone else had encountered the problem as Linux is fairly widely used and Zorin (like Mint) is based on the popular Ubuntu 22.04 package base.

Hello GeordiePaul,
Thanks for your response.
There are no other reports that the Zorin 16.2 Operating System will not install that I am aware of, but maybe fellow community members have the knowledge, and they jumped in and helped.
However, as your Linux* Distribution and version are not listed on our compatibility website, as I mentioned before, contact your Linux Distribution's support.
Best regards,
Jean O.

If you are using an unsupported distro, then you are on your own. Typically, the cause of issues such as this is a lack of kernel/driver support for the latest hardware. This is why the advice provided is for you to contact the distro developers.
