HI All
just picked up a NUC11TN I5 model, and so far Both HDMI ports have given nothing but trouble, from testing and looking at some documents it looks as if HDMI port 1 is actually converted from display port by a LSPCON chip, and this port gives no output what so ever when the NUC is connected to my arcam AVR550 amp, not even the post screen shows or bios can be accessed, if i plug direct to the TV it does work but limited to 4k30hz
HDMI port 2 appears to be the native HDMI connection but again your documentation shows this to go through a retimer chip?, this port will work going thorugh my AVR but it will not change refresh rates when running Linux/libreelec
i am going to test with windows to see if at least stable there, but HDMI1 is a no go as i can't get output to install anything as must run through my AVR, but the device was purchased for libreelec use expecting the basic HDMI functions to work
this is the only device I have(cable box, Xbox, odroidn2+, and more) that causes problems, I have 10th gen PC's with display port to HDMI adaptors and they work as expected

Hello maff76,
Thank you for posting on the Intel® communities. I am sorry to know that you are having issues with your Intel NUC.
In order to better assist you, please provide the following:
1. Run the Intel® System Support Utility (Intel® SSU) to gather more details about the system.
- Download the Intel® SSU and save the application on your computer: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/18377/intel-system-support-utility-for-windows.html
- Open the application, check the "Everything" checkbox, and click "Scan" to see the system and device information. The Intel® SSU defaults to the "Summary View" on the output screen following the scan. Click the menu where it says "Summary" to change to "Detailed View".
- To save your scan, click Next and click Save.
2. Just to confirm, is the issue with HDMI 1 port only present with the receiver?
3. Have you tried a different receiver with your NUC?
4. Have you tried different monitors and/or TVs with the NUC?
5. What is the brand and model name of your monitor or TV?
Regards,
Deivid A.

can answer a few of the questions
HDMI 1 problem is only when connected to my amp, don't have another one to test with, when plugged direct into the TV though it defaults to 4k30hz instead of 4k60 like all other devices i have using LSPCON chips or DP to HDMI convertors
only monitors i have are 1080P so doesn't help test 4kHDR
TV is a Panasonic JZ1500, reciever is a Arcam 550
HDMI 2 not changing refresh rate is probley a mixture of a non standard HDMI implementation on the NUC and Linux needing to be updated to handle that, but i have tested Gen11 CPU's and Z590 boards with native HDMI implementation and they work fine with Linux
not had a chance to mess with a windows install yet but i suspect HDMI 2 will work okay, and HDMI 1 will be the same

Hello maff76,
Thanks for your response. In this case, if you are using Linux, I recommend you confirm if you have installed the latest firmware and driver for Ubuntu.
If you have everything up to date, please provide the report from the Intel® System Support Utility (Intel® SSU) to investigate further:
Run the Intel® System Support Utility (Intel® SSU) to gather more details about the system.
- Download the Intel® SSU and save the application on your computer: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/18895/intel-system-support-utility-for-the-linux-operating-system.html
- Open the application, check the "Everything" checkbox, and click "Scan" to see the system and device information. The Intel® SSU defaults to the "Summary View" on the output screen following the scan. Click the menu where it says "Summary" to change it to "Detailed View".
- To save your scan, click Next and click Save.

Hello maff76,
Thanks for the report. Bear in mind that this issue can happen if the receiver you're using doesn't support the same High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) version as is supported on the Intel NUC. For example, if the receiver supports HDCP 1.4, but the Intel NUC supports HDCP 2.2, you might not see a display. In this case, the older AV receiver won't be compatible with the Intel NUC.
I will check this situation internally to confirm if there are any steps we can take, but since this is a Linux environment and our drivers are meant for Windows, I may not have much to try. If possible, try to test with Windows to confirm if the issue persists or check with the Linux distributors to confirm that you have the latest drivers and firmware.
As soon as I have any details I will let you know.
Regards,
Deivid A.

Hello maff76,
I would like to let you know that Intel does not recommend using adapters since they can behave not as expected and we cannot guarantee 3rd party products/adapters will work as expected.
However, to help further I would like to know if you were able to test with Windows. Please let me know the outcome.
Regards,
Deivid A.
