I am trying to get my NUC11TNKv5 to work with a Blackmagic eGPU RX580X Pro. Unfortunately on Windows 11 the device is recognized but does not work as Windows cannot find resources for it: This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12).
I have tried multiple times to install Windows 11 from scratch but it is always the same result.
What I did so far:
- Installed the eGPU on a NUC8i5bek with Windows 11 => OK (eGPU is OK and works on WIn11)
- Installed the eGPU on my NUC11TNKv5 with Windows 10 => OK (eGPU is OK and works with the NUC11)
- Tried with all possible drivers that are available (from the oldest to newest) => FAIL
- Updated all possible Firmware => FAIL
I am blocked now and would very much like to solve this issue.
Help is very much appreciated.

Hello chaplin1,
Based on the fact that the system was working fine on Windows 10, this issue may be related to drivers or OS resources. The only driver we provide is the Thunderbolt driver, and it seems to be working fine. Since we do not support eGPUs, our best recommendation is to contact Microsoft to check options for Windows 11 and as well you may contact Blackmagic/AMD for further assistance.
Please keep in mind that this thread will no longer be monitored by Intel. Thank you for your understanding.
Best regards,
Steven G.

Dear Steven,
just to clarify a few thing I installed the whole thing about 10 times to repeat and try out other BIOS settings such as deactivate virtualization etc ... (Clean on Windows 11 and Windows 10). For the NUC11 I get it to work every single time on Windows 10 and never on Windows 11. My NUC8 on the other hand works without any issue with the exact same eGPU out of the box on Windows 11, so if this were a Microsoft issue or an AMD driver issue why would it work so well and easily on the NUC8? I have already contacted Microsoft and did everything they recommended (like deinstalling, reinstalling, changing BIOS settings ...). After all I have tried, I also believe that it has something to do with OS & Resources management.
