I've just received my NUC11PAHi7 and I'm going to configure it during the next days. Although it's still too early to check whether there are any thermal issues since the beginning due, for instance, to a defective thermal past application, I would like to know whether anybody has had good results sitting the unit on an external cooling fan, or placing such fan on top of the unit.
Many thanks

"or placing such fan on top of the unit."
What, like this?

Reeeally funny. No, I meant something like this:
According to this Japanese user, the CPU temperature dropped by some 20-30%. I'm only asking if somebody else here has adopted a similar workaround.

I forgot to say that the upper fan sits on top of the unit after removing the unit top cover.

Hello MarioJP,
Thank you for posting on the Intel️® communities.
Regarding your questions, you should know that the NUC11PAHi7 thermal design is enough to prevent the unit from overheating. There is no need to add external fans.

Thank you Jean,
I indeed hope not be forced to use those external fans. But, the unit shown in the picture above is a NUC11PAHi7, and in the website where the user described the reasons for this choice (he said he just bought it) it was clear that the unit was overheating, at least judging from the various graphs. Anyway, we will see.
Thank you.

Thank you. I'm just in the middle of gradually configuring the NUC11PAHi7 and installing apps, so I haven't reached a situation which might require your help re overheating yet.
