NUC5i5myhe will not boot after M.2 drive install but will when I remove the drive.

I have a NUC5i5myhe with a 2.5 SSD that boots to Ubuntu just fine but when I recently tried to add a  Intel 670p Series M.2 2280 1TB PCIe NVMe 3.0 x4 QLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) SSDPEKNU010TZX1 it fails to even get to bios as far as I can tell.  Like no power button light at all.  If I remove the drive it goes back to running just fine.  Even if I use a bootable USB on power up... Nothing...  Remove the M.2 drive and all is good...  Maybe the new Intel 670p Series M.2 2280 1TB PCIe NVMe 3.0 x4 QLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) is too much?  IDK?  I would really like to have this NUC dual boot without VM's.   Any ideas would be great.  I have 6 days left to return the new drive.  Thanks in advance...

Hi @manfrema

NUC5i5MYHE doesn't supports NVMe drives. Only SATA interface is supported. Please refer to the list of Intel Validated Parts for your NUC. Please refer to para. 1.7 in Technical Product Specification.

manfrema, Thank you for posting in the Intel® Communities Support.

Just to let you know, Intel® NUC Kit NUC5i5MYHE is under status of: End Of Interactive Support / Discontinued as you can confirm in the link below:

https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark/products/84861/intel-nuc-kit-nuc5i5myhe.html

So, even though Intel® technical support will no longer be provided for this kind of products, still, as an option you may want to try our Discontinued Products Community to get recommendations from fellow community members:

Thank you very much Leon... That was very helpful. I will swap it out. This NUC, although old'ish will do what I need it to do once it has some space. Again... Thank you.
