Hello, I had troubles with updating my NUC. It had bios version sy0071. After I tried to update without the yellow jumper (every other step fails) it look good, but at the end of te proces I got a message that the update failed. I powered off with te button and after that it only turns on, with only te green led on the mainboard but nothing happens. I don't have a power led or screen. I don't no what to do to solve it.

That's good to hear. Mark a post as providing the solution for your question so that the intel Customer Support folks knows that the conversation can be closed.

Hi,

I had the same issue with updating to 0073 on my NUC6i5SYK.

I have tried every recovery tips from intel, but nothing worked.

In the end i decided to do the same as you to get a working machine again, but i am not able to find a good bin file that will work with the NUC6i5SYK. Where did you get hold of your? Could you PM me if you have any pointers?

Cheers,

Vic

Updating to BIOS 0085 on a NUC7i7BNH also bricked my NUC in the exact same way. Update failed with intel management engine. Cannot boot into bios, tried jumper, etc.

The Bios update was release recently -- I guess their management engine detected we are out of warranty and decided to make us purchase a new NUC!

Well, I see that I'm not the only one that I have the same problem. I did everything Intel said and the outcome was blue light off and the fan spinning.

Is the CH341 programmer the only solution here? What is the risk of using that?

Thanks a lot,

Luciano

Hi Luciano, I don't know. I purchased the CH341 programmer and it's works. You can buy one from aliexpress. I can send you the bios file to get the nuc running.

Gentleman, updating the bios in this manner is a very bad practice.   It is a security risk, plus it is stealing the identity of another machine.

Just saying...

NUC6i5syh only shows green led on, blue led on and fan spinning usb works. No display no ssd activity… Can your bios resurrect my nuc after flashing it? Were can i get the file?

Hhmmm... What BIOS version did you have on your system before attempting this update? What method did you use to attempt the update (F7, UEFI or Windows EBU)?

The latest .BIO file *is* your recovery file. Follow the instructions for doing a jumper-based BIOS Recovery provided here: How to Recover Intel NUC BIOS Using the Security Jumper.

Let us know how it goes. Not trying to jinx things, but there have been a couple cases where the NUC was well and truly bricked during one of these updates.
