NUC6i7KYK Skull Canyon Internal connectors

Hi,

has anyone an Idea what connector fits the internal connectors?

In the Datasheet the following is given:

Molex part number 5041871874, 1.25 mm pitch header, surface mount, vertical

for the blue connector with 2 USB 3.0

and

Entery part number 3950K-J20C-00L, 1.25 mm pitch header, surface mount, vertical

for the white one with USB 2.0, the power LED, power button ...

I wasn't able to find a matching connector so far because the given parts seem to be realy rare.

The only thing I was able to find are the following ones:

http://www.gorite.com/intel-nuc-nuc6i7kyk-skull-canyon-internal-common-io-header-df1-25mm-20-pin Intel NUC NUC6i7KYK Skull Canyon Internal Common IO Header DF1.25mm 20 Pin

http://www.gorite.com/intel-nuc-nuc6i7kyk-skull-canyon-internal-usb-3-0-header-cable Intel NUC NUC6i7KYK Skull Canyon Internal USB 3.0 Header Cable

But I dont need the whole cable, only the connectors.

Has anyone an Idea what connectors could fit or where to get them?

Thanks,

Pat

This is the drawing for the receptacle on the board, based on the part number you are showing (I haven't confirmed). The part number defines the family, pin count and color.

504187 - Family of connector

18 - Pin count

74 - Blue

This is the drawing for the housing(s) that mate to it. You need an 18 pin count. Any color should work. Your choices will be 5041861800, 5041861801, 5041861802, 5041861804, and 5041861806 depending on color.

This housing has no contacts. You must first crimp these contacts to the target wires. The crimped contacts come on strips, and you break them off the strip, and crimp them to the stripped end of the wire. Then insert the crimped contact into the housing. It should lock in place when oriented properly. They require AWG 26-30 wire gauge.

Digikey has at least one of the housing colors here (may have others too):

and the crimped contact here:

Entery.... hmmm...

First of all - http://www.entery.com.tw http://www.entery.com.tw

Receptacle on board, based on your part number. 20 pin count version:

http://www.entery.com.tw/file/en_US/Prod/D-3950K-XXXX-00%2C02X%28S%29.pdf http://www.entery.com.tw/file/en_US/Prod/D-3950K-XXXX-00,02X(S).pdf

They are not very upfront about what part number mates to this though...

So, I recommend contacting Entery (E & T) sales/support through the website to find the mating part(s). I will warn that these may be difficult to find online, but if you can get a part number, try googling it.

Hope this helps!

Sure, sorry for not answering untill now. Your answer was very helpful and I found the matching part for the blue one. The last days I was hoping to find the matching part for the Entery but there wasn't any sucess since now. But I didnt contact them already.

Thanks,

Pat

This may be a long shot but do you still know the female connector for the blue 3.0 header at all?

as a total newbie - is there any documentation about the nuc6i7kyk onboard connectors and possible use cases?

Am I correct to assume that there are only 3 onboard connectors - one strictly for usb3, one for usb 2 and a power cable, and a connector for something else (power button? leds?)?

I have a use case where i would like to use a 12v lcd panel and would be nice to use a single power source - perhaps it is best to work on this separate from the nuc board and just have a single power source for the nuc and the screen.

***ah i see the http://ark.intel.com/products/89187/Intel-NUC-Kit-NUC6i7KYK ARK page has some information on the headers - "CEC, 2x USB2.0, 2x USB 3.0, FRONT_PANEL" . Are there pinouts and diagrams for these by chance? USB2 and 3 are pretty self explanatory but the other stuff I am not sure about. Perhaps it was already mentioned in the forum though..

1kilo, here you can find the Mechanical Drawings and Custom Chassis Information for Intel® NUC; http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/boards-and-kits/intel-nuc-kits/000006820.html Mechanical Drawings and Custom Chassis Information for Intel® NUC. You can also find more details in regard to the headers, here http://www.intel.com/content/dam/support/us/en/documents/boardsandkits/NUC6i7KYK_TechProdSpec.pdf http://www.intel.com/content/dam/support/us/en/documents/boardsandkits/NUC6i7KYK_TechProdSpec.pdf.

Thanks a lot Amy, that is the kind of document I was looking for! apologies for not noticing it myself. Just one question, the "Spec Change" in the Revision History list on page 2 and 3 of the PDF is stating that the document itself had revisions, or are there NUC6i7KYK component/board revisions also? Would be nice to know in case I get an old one.

Sure, you're welcome.

It refers to the document itself.
