NUC7PJYH Bios Recovery

I have a NUC7PJYH that I would like to downgrade to Bios 27, in order to use legacy boot to install Roon OS.

I apparently need to use bios recovery to do the downgrade. I have read all the relevant documentation, but do not seem to be able to do a bios recovery.

I have tried the following:

• Access Power Button mode: when I press the power button, the HD light does not change colour after three seconds. So I cannot enter bios recovery mode
• USe the bios security jumper method: Remove the bios security jumper, plug in a FAT32 USB stick with JY0027.bio on it. After I press the power button the led of the usb stick starts blinking. The power button led stays on solid. After ten minutes the NUC still has not turned off. When I manally restart the NCU, bios is still at version 45

I think I have followed all the instructions precisely. Am I missing something?

Hi,

Probably you did everything correct, however due to security encasement you can't downgrade bios to version 0027 but only to version 0042 (please read the Release Notes: https://downloadmirror.intel.com/28242/eng/JY_0045_ReleaseNotes.pdf https://downloadmirror.intel.com/28242/eng/JY_0045_ReleaseNotes.pdf ). For your information, the Legacy boot was removed in version 0037, but this is not helping you neither.

Thanks Leon for the insight.

Looks like I'll have to do without Roon OS and stick with dietpi / Roon Server. I guess both will work equally well. Roon ROCK basically maintains itself, while I need to update dietpi manually. But I can live with that.
