all drivers and bios up to date, running Win10 20H2.
when I try to install it just rolls back with an error.
1.41.1054.0 is "DCH" driver and the last one 17.4.77.400 a "Legacy" driver. when I ran the install it did say it was uninstalling the old one.
we are using the USB-C out to DisplayPort monitor. it's working, so maybe this isn't that important.
Thanks

Um, you are supposed to have a TBT device attached when you run the installer, so perhaps this is what is causing either installation failures or version rollback. In any case, you are right; it really doesn't matter if you are simply using USB-C DP Alt. Mode.
