NUC7i3DNK monitoring sensors

For monitoring sensors in Windows, Intel advises by the following link multiple sofware tools.

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000024102/mini-pcs.html Diagnostic and Performance Tools for the Intel® NUC

We've tested Open HW monitor, SpeedFan and Hmonitor

But non of those tools works properly with the 7th generation NUC !?!?!?!?!?

For a big upcomming project 1000+ pieces, we need a proper tool to monitor de NUC.

And for us it is important to also see the voltages and cpu-fan speed.

Does anyone know a better tool ???

Is there a setting in the bios to unlock such sensors for monitoring ???

I use https://www.hwinfo.com/download.php https://www.hwinfo.com/download.php

Others may use https://www.aida64.com/downloads Downloads | AIDA64

The above links are provided for your convenience.

Thanks but this shows (allmost) everything, but not de CPU fan speed.

With older versions of NUC it does, but not this one !

It shows my cpu fan speed. Perhaps you are looking in the wrong place.

You tried both of these already? Within 3 minutes?

If you have questions, contact the provider of those utilities.

I was allready testing both versions !

And what model NUC do you have ?

You did not mention that in your post.

I have a NUC6i7KYK. Yes that is not a 7th gen nuc, but it should be the same.

And, on HWiNFO, you did look under SENSORS button, correct?

Yes Al Hill, I did look under SENSORS button.

The problem is, I suspect not the software...

The 7th gen NUC has something different to all other versions

Well, you will need to wait for one of the Intel support staff to help you.

We hope that they do !!!

My client is using currently Siteremote for a large number of PC's and NUC's

The fan-speed sensor is an important thing for this Siteremote.

Hello RealPC's,

Thank you for joining the Intel Community Support.

I understand that you are looking tools to monitor your Intel® NUC.

Another tool you can use to monitor your units is the Intel® Extreme Tuning Utility (Intel® XTU). This tool shows information about voltages, memory, among others.

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/24075/Intel-Extreme-Tuning-Utility-Intel-XTU-?product=6642...

Now, these are the tools we usually recommend for the Intel® NUC, as you stated before.

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000024102/mini-pcs.html

In this case, you can follow the suggestions provided by Al Hill, too.

Warner G. from Intel,

Thank you for suggestions !

We tried also the ussual recommended software as well as the XTU.

Fantastic software but it has no sensor-monitoring for the CPU FAN.

We can see the voltages, watts and temperature but no FAN-SPEED !

For example an older NUC5i5RYK installed with latest BIOS, Windows10 and HWiNFO64

See the image below !!! The old NUC's are showing the CPU FAN-SPEED

But with a new model like NUC7i3DNK or NUC7i5BNK also with latest BIOS, Windows10 and HWiNFO64

Shows NOT everything, the hole CPU FAN-SPEED is invisible !

PLEASE LET ME EXPLAIN AGAIN WHY THE CPU FAN-SPEED IS IMPORTANT :

We are monitoring thousands of computers (Most of them are NUC's) with software called SiteRemote.

SiteRemote allways monitors the CPU FAN-SPEED to judge if a computer is healthy or not.

Right now we are preparing a very big order (1000+) of new NUC7i3DNK and get stuck on this.

If SiteRemote does not recognize the CPU FAN-SPEED then all of those new systems will apear as unhealty.

(Even when the are working fine)

I hope that you or a colleague can help ?

I just ran HWiNFO on my NUC7i7BNKQ, and the CPU fan speed is there, but further down the list in sensors under "intel compute card".

Perhaps siteremote needs to be updated...

I have been told that latest Beta release of AIDA64 Extreme has support for all of the sensors offered in the BN, DN, AY, JY, HN and HV NUCs. I am in the process of testing it on all of these platforms. So far, I have verified it works on HN, HV and DN - and that includes a display of fan (blower) speed(s). I will provide an update on my testing with the other models shortly...

Ok, I completed testing. On all of these platforms - BN, DN, AY, JY, HN and HV - fan (blower) speed(s) are being properly displayed. This is AIDA64 version 5.97.4652-Beta.

RealPC's - What is SiteRemove using to extract this information? (Their website is useless for this level of information.) Are they pulling it from other applications/services or do they have a homebrew method?

After our testing, I suspect RealPC has been on the phone with SiteRemove.

I also checked their website. It wasted my time.

Thank you sir !

We've just tested the latest version "aida64extreme_build_4652_dk5sbxt3yq".

And finaly the fan speed is there to see !

.

I allready sent the info to my client, by him SiteRemote will be contacted for further tweaking.

How SiteRemote develops we don't now but we hope that they implement the reading of this sensor fast.

If SiteRemote requires technical details, please refer them to me (via IM); I can help get them in contact with the right folks at Intel.

The company CPUID has made a fix for us in the meantime.

Soon there will be a new tool to read them all.

So no more obstacles to monitor the NUC's.
