NUC7i5BNH IR Remote Not Working

Hey all,

So it's in the title. I bought a Harmony 350 remote today to control all my devices including the NUC with Windows 10, problem is I just can't seem to get it working with my device. Yet it works with my Xbox One and TV fine.

I have entered the manufacturer remote settings as Intel and model NUC7i5BNH, the IR drivers are installed, the IR BIOS toggle is enabled, and the BIOS are up to date, yet still no good; the remote is unresponsive on the NUC.

What could be the issue here?

Any help appreciated.

Hello Okel,

Thank you for joining the Intel Community Support.

There are a few steps that we can take to troubleshoot this issue, but I would like to begin by checking the system requirements.

According to the following link below, your remote control is not compatible with Windows 10.

https://www.logitech.com/en-us/product/harmony-350-control# specification-tabular

However, websites sometimes are not up to date. It would be great if you could get the confirmation from any Logitech Community/Chat support.

I am also including a link where you can see check the tested peripherals for your Intel® NUC Kit NUC7i5BNH. Please go to Remote Controls section:

http://compatibleproducts.intel.com/ProductDetails/ExportPeripheralInfo?moduleName=Intel%C2%AE%20NUC...

It seems that the only device tested for your unit is the Harmony 650 - Part number 915-000173. This may explain why your setup is not working at this moment.

In addition, I would like to gather basic system information. Please scan it using the Intel® System Support Utility. Follow the steps below:

1.Download the Intel® System Support Utility and save the application to your system.

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/Intel-System-Support-Utility-for-Windows-?product=91...

2.Open the application and click Scan to see system and device information. The Intel® System Support Utility defaults to the Summary View on the output screen following the scan. Click the menu where it says summary to change to Detailed View.

3.To save your scan, click Next and click Save. You can save the file to any accessible location on your computer.

4. Attach the report to this thread.

Thanks Wanner.

After reinstalling the older IR driver this morning (for some reason I had the next version up from the driver page?) and a reboot, the remote has suddenly begun working.

The range isn't spectacular, but the Harmony 350 does indeed seem to work now.
