NUC7i5BNH does not go to sleep automatically under Windows 10

Hello,

I would like to get some support for power save mode issue of my NUC7i5BNH computer operating under Windows 10 Home OS (a newest version after all the updates to the moment).

The computer has the most recent driver software (BIOS, drivers etc) according to the Intel Driver & Support Assistant (DSA) software.

PROBLEM: The computer does not go to sleep mode AUTOMATICALLY (the current power setting is set to sleep after 15 minutes), but if I select the mode (either hibernate or sleep) from Windows 10 power menu it goes to the mode without any problem! There is also no problem to wake the computer up with either mouse move or keyboard key press!

My monitor is connected through HDMI (a cable supports HDMI version 1.4) and it is relatively old model (Samsung SyncMaster FX2490HD) . The monitor's user guide says " DPM(Display Power Management) Function does not work if you used in conjunction with the [HDMI] port of this product."

It is Okay for me that the monitor does not support DPM function, my main issue is: the NUC box does not go to sleep after the specified time.

My configuration is in the attached file generated by Intel SSU utility.

Best regards, Vladimir

Hello Vladimir.S

Thank you for posting on the Intel® communities.

In order to check this further, could you please provide the following information?

1- How many Intel® NUC units you have that are experiencing this issue?

2- Did the sleep function work fine before? Is this a new system?

3- If this work before, was there any software, Windows update, driver, or hardware change that might have triggered the issue?

4- Have you tested this using a different display or monitor? If not yet, could you please try this?

5- Did you change the settings in the BIOS? If so, have you tried loading BIOS defaults?

  1. Press F2 during boot to enter BIOS Setup.
  2. Press F9 to set defaults.
  3. Press F10 to save and exit BIOS.

6- Please provide a screenshot or picture from the following section in BIOS:

  • Advanced > Power > Primary Power Settings
  • Advanced > Power > Secondary Power Settings
