NUC7i5BNH screen flickering on 55" 4k HDR TV

Hi,

After the latest round of updates the dreading screen flickering has returned for me when:

1) Playing content off plex; and

2) Using skype.

The TV I use is Panasonic TX-55CR852B, 55" 5k HDR TV, connected with HDMI2.0 cable. I had this issue in the past however over the past couple of months it has been fine. Since installing a batch of updates in the new year, the screen flickering has return and flickers on and off.

System is Nuc 7i5BNH with 8gb ram and 1tb SSD.

Let me know if you need any more info, hopefully someone can help!

Hi Hamid.riaz: Thank you very much for contacting the Intel® NUC communities. We will do our best to try to fix this problem.

For this type of scenario we can install the latest graphics driver for the NUC, 4877:

We can also try a BIOS update to the latest version, 0061, using the F7 method:

Another thing to do will be the HDMI 2.0 firmware update:

Some TVs have the option to do a firmware update and sometimes they have their own driver, so that is something that you can always confirm with Panasonic directly, in the case an update is needed:

If you have the option to test the NUC with a different HDMI cable, please try that, also if there are more than one HDMI port on the TV please test them all to rule out a possible problem with an specific port.

Any further questions, please let me know.

Regards,

Alberto R

Hi, it appears the cause was a rogue HDMI cable. I replaced it and did your updates - issue seems to have been cured. Thanks!
