Hi,
My monitor is an ultrawide Samsung C34F791, capable of 3440x1440 at 100 Hz via HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.2.
According to the specs, NUC7i7BNH is capable of outputting 4096x2304 at 60 Hz.
That's great for 4K monitors! But what about higher refresh rates at lower resolutions?
- Does Iris Plus Graphics 650 support higher than 60 Hz refresh rate?
- Is HDMI 2.0 capable of 100 Hz refresh rate?
- Is Thunderbolt 3 (the USB-C port) capable of 100 Hz refresh rate?
Regards,
Erez.

Hello Erez,
Thank you for contacting Intel® technical support. I will be more than happy to help you.
I understand that you want to know if you are able to achieve a resolution of 3440 x 1440 @ 100 Hz via HDMI® or Thunderbolt™ 3 with an Intel® NUC Kit NUC7i7BNH.
If you use a straight connection with HDMI® 2.0 or Thunderbolt™ 3, you should have enough bandwidth to achieve that resolution with that refresh rate.
Regards,
Xavier A.

Hi Xavier,
I can confirm that my Samsung C34F791 is working at its native 3440x1440 resolution at 100 Hz, when connected to NUC7i7BNH Thunderbolt 3 port via a USB-C to DisplayPort cable.
However, I was unable to use HDMI 2.0 with the same refresh rate. Not sure if this is possible.
Hope this information will help fellow NUC owners.
Regards,
Erez.

Hello Erez,
You should be able with HDMI® 2.0. However, if you are using an adapter or a splitter, or if you are not using a high quality HDMI® cable, you might not be able to get the expected results.
Regards,
Xavier A.
