My problem: I cannot see any thunderbolt controller (see attachment) and I cannot get my monitor working over thunderbolt / USB-C.
I read different threads in this forum and the problem is not unsual on older NUCs.
Thank you in adavance
Thank you for contacting Intel Communities.
Can you please provide the following information to better assist you?
thank you for your prompt reply.
Thank you for the information.
Can you please test any of the adapters (Cables/Dongles) found in http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/boards-and-kits/intel-nuc-kits/000023164.html this list?
Have you tested any other display?
If none of these suggestions work, then I would recommend contacting your system vendor to look for any possible warranty options.
I thought the dongle mentioned in the attachment is that one: https://www.amazon.de/Chenyang-m%C3%A4nnlich-DisplayPort-Monitor-Chrombook/dp/B06XTBT15T/ref=sr_1_1?... https://www.amazon.de/Chenyang-m%C3%A4nnlich-DisplayPort-Monitor-Chrombook/dp/B06XTBT15T/ref=sr_1_1?...… Isn't it? It's difficult to purchase one of the suggested cables / dongles here in Switzerland.
No I don't own an other displays at home, therefore I cannot test it.
How can I test if the controller is working and it's only a problem of the cable / dongle? Is there any possibility?
Seems to me that this is a compatibility issue with the adapter being used. At this stage, the only way is to use a different adapter/monitor.
thanks for your assistance. It was indeed a compability issue. I have bought a StarTech USB-C to DP Adapter and it is working now.
From a consumer point of view it's a nightmare if some adapters work and others don't, although they are all USB-C or thunderbolt compliant.
Thank you for letting me know. I am glad to hear everything is working now.
Please don't hesitate in contacting us back if you need further assistance.
