Hello again,

You can connect up to three monitors using daisy-chain connection to from NUC Display Port or two monitors (one to HDMI port and the second to the Display Port). For details see Product Specification https://www.intel.com/content/dam/support/us/en/documents/boardsandkits/NUC7i5BN_NUC7i7BN_TechProdSp... https://www.intel.com/content/dam/support/us/en/documents/boardsandkits/NUC7i5BN_NUC7i7BN_TechProdSp... , para. 1.5.1.4 trough 1.5.1.5.

An example of such connection you may see on page 27 of DELL U2415 User Guide http://cdn2.bhphotovideo.com/lit_files/103768.pdf http://cdn2.bhphotovideo.com/lit_files/103768.pdf

Hope this will help

There are a couple of ways to do this.

  1. Connect first monitor via HDMI port. Then, use a DisplayPort (DP) Multi-Stream (MST) Hub, plugged into the USB-C port, to connect two additional monitors. Here are some examples of hubs that support two HDMI monitors being connected: https://www.amazon.com/StarTech-com-USB-C-HDMI-Splitter-Thunderbolt/dp/B06XPVGQKY Amazon.com: StarTech.com USB-C/TBT3 to Dual HDMI Splitter (MST Hub) and https://www.amazon.com/Adapter-Belinda-Thunderbolt-adapter-Aluminium/dp/B074TF6WM9 Amazon.com: Belinda USB-C/TBT3 to Dual HDMI Splitter (MST Hub).
  2. Connect first monitor via HDMI port. Then, use a USB-C to DP dongle to connect a DP monitor to the USB-C port. Then, connect a second DP monitor to the first DP monitor using its Daisy Chain port.
  3. Use a USB-C to DP dongle to connect a DP monitor to the USB-C port. Connect a second DP monitor to the first DP monitor using its Daisy Chain port. Then, connect a third DP monitor to the second DP monitor via its Daisy Chain port.

Option one and two will support 4K monitors, but only at 30Hz. Option three will only support three 1080p monitors at (I believe) 60Hz.

Hope this helps,

Hello Agustav,

Thank you for your question.

As far as I know HDMI port use incurs license fees for HDMI patent or so.

That causes companies to popularize Display Port that doesn't have the charge.

However, today exist multiple software and hardware methods to output video to additional displays. There are represented hdmi splitters, for example.

Some folks even manage to attach new display over bluetooth. Moreover, recently got emerged and became popular displays based on displaylink.com.

Andrei
