NUC7i7DNHE doesn´t react - black screen

Jump to solution

hi, my NUC7i7DNHE does show black screen. I shutted down the system without doing anything. If i press on the power-button, the fan is running at thigh speed and the monitor shows nothing. I can activate and deactivate the num-keay on the keyboard. I can press F2 but no uefi is shown. I can press the power-button for 4 seconds and relase. After another 3 seconds its powering off. After powering on, it´s starts from the beginning.

Hello o0Julia0o

Thank you for contacting us.

I understand that you are experiencing boot issues with your NUC7i7DNHE.

First, please let us know if the LED lights of unit your show any of the behaviors described in this link:

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000005845/mini-pcs.html https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000005845/mini-pcs.html

On the link above, you will find extra troubleshooting steps depending on the status of the lights.

In order to try to isolate the issue we would like you to test the unit into a minimalistic environment:

-Remove the SSD and reinstall the RAM memory modules to make sure they are fully seated in the sockets.

-If you installed two RAM memory modules, try removing one of them.

-If you installed one RAM memory module in an Intel NUC that has two memory slots, try moving it to the other memory slot.

-A pattern of three LED blinks during boot can indicate defective memory and that the board is working properly.

As well let me ask, have you made any recent changes on your set up?

Have you performed any update?

Have you tried a different cable or monitor?

I hope to hear from you soon.

Best Regards,

Diego S.

Thank you. The hdmi-port where the signal is going out had changed without any actions from my side. It is put set to "auto" in the uefi.

I found one thing experimenting.

Make sure your DDR4 ram is installed in the bottom slot if you only have one chip. I put mine in the top and it was taking me minutes to boot up.

Swapped it back and now have normally BIOS times.

Hope this helps.
