Are you sure that you've enabled it properly?

  • During system boot, use the F2 key to enter BIOS Setup (Visual BIOS). Click on Advanced, then Devices and then on the Onboard Devices tab. In the Legacy Device Configuration window on the right, ensure that Enhanced Consumer IR is checked and that the CIR Remote Controller Type is set to XBOX One Remote Controller.
  • Now click on Power at the top. In the Secondary Power Settings window on the right, ensure that Wake from S3 via CIR and Wake from S4 and S5 via CIR are both checked.
  • If you made any changes, remember to save the BIOS Configuration when you exit from Visual BIOS.

Hope this helps,

I have no idea; I have never seen one of these remotes. Is it functionally identical to the XBOX One remote?

Yes, Talon Media Remote works the same as XBOX One remote

Although it is Microsoft's official licensed product, unfortunately it does not work (power on off) with NUC8I7HNK

Ok, Intel Customer Support will need to investigate this and see what they can discover. I only have Media Center remotes.

Both BIOS and Consumer Infrared Receiver driver were the latest version

The CIR function is also enabled

I removed the CIR driver again and reinstalled the latest version, but it didn't work

As usual, Select button and Enter key worked but Power on off does not work

I tried changing the settings of the power and sleep button and cover.

Changed the action when pressing the sleep button from the setting to do nothing to sleep or hibernate.

Then I was able to sleep or hibernate with the remote control.

But as usual, I can not turn it on.

This does work with a "Generic" (Windows Media Center) remote, BTW.

Hello perica,

Thank you for patiently waiting.

I have been trying to replicate this with an Xbox One remote and the Intel ® NUC8i7HNK but I was unable to turn on the Intel ® NUC, I was only able to send it to sleep/hibernate.

This case seems to be related to compatibility issues, what I can recommend you to do is to contact Microsoft* directly to report this issue so they can work with you and they may even be able to give you a workaround.

Thank you very much for your feedback n.scott.pearson.
