NUC8I7HVK - displayport not working

Recently purchased the NUC817HVK with is now up and running. I also purchased a Samsung 4k freesync monitor at the same time.

I found out to use freesync that I need to use displayport rather than HDMI. However when I connect the displayport I don't get anything on the display, it looks like it is connected as it doesn't show no signal but nothing shows up.

Have tried different resolutions/refresh rates etc but no luck. Any help appreciated.

I installed both the chipset driver and the management engine driver (why doesn't the intel update software install these???) and it made a small difference in that I could see the screen for 1/2 sec. I decided to get a new cable to see if that would fix the problem and thankfully it did.

Thanks for your help.

PS When I did the original install I had display problems with HDMI and wasn't able to resolve until I disconnected the CMOS battery as per your suggestion in another post, so thanks again. Not sure why you need to do this with a brand you piece of kit???
