I have a NUC8i3BEK2 that does not boot when I connect power and try to turn it on. It is set to boot once power is connected. When I open it I see that the LED marked SATA_PWR STBY is flashing rapidly when power is connected. So there seems to be power on the main board. But nothing else is happening.
Does anyone have any idea whether the NUC can be recovered?
Best regards,

Hello OJS,
Thank you for posting on the Intel® communities. I understand you are having issues with your Intel® NUC Kit NUC8i3BEK.
In order to better assist you, please provide the following:
1. Was the NUC working before? If so, when did the issue start?
2. Did you notice the issue after a system update (BIOS, drivers, Windows)?
3. Have you tried with a different storage device?
4. Have you tried a different power supply/power cord?
5. As a test, have you tried a different RAM?
Best regards,
Deivid A.

Hi Deivid,
Thank you for your reply.
Here are my answers:
1. Was the NUC working before? If so, when did the issue start?
A: Yes, the NUC was working well until a few months ago when it suddely did not want to start. I only had time to look into the problem now.
2. Did you notice the issue after a system update (BIOS, drivers, Windows)?
A: No, there were no system updates in the months before it happended. The NUC is deployed at a remote location and I disable Windows and driver updates for these units to prevent such problems.
3. Have you tried with a different storage device?
A: No, I have not. I expected that if it was a problem with the storage device the NUC would at least have attempted to start. But since it seems to be completely dead, I did not think that the storage device was the problem. But I have removed the SSD and tried to start the NUC, but it did not make a difference.
4. Have you tried a different power supply/power cord?
A: Yes, I have tried multiple power sources and also measured the power source to verify the proper voltage (19V).
5. As a test, have you tried a different RAM?
A: No, I have not - for the same reasons as Q3. But I have removed the RAM and tried to start the NUC, but still no response.
Best regards,
OJS

You may try to disconnect the CMOS battery and reconnect it after 15 minutes. Since in order to do this, the board must be removed from NUCs case, this tutorial may guide you how to do this.
It is advisable to check the battery voltage if it is still 3VDC or less.
