Dual USB 3.0 (works fine without driver) and Thunderbbolt 2 Interface
The supplied installer goes through the install process with no errors in the log, but the controller doesn't show up as being installed. On plugging in the Thunderbolt interface there is a system message about a "base system" being configured
There was a suggestion I read which suggested installing an Intel Chipset updated driver, but the Driver and Support Assistant claims no updates are available.

On this page: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/126148/Intel-NUC-Kit-NUC8i5BEH , you may find an download all latest drivers for your NUC. You may install drivers manually, since some time the Driver and Support Assistant has some glitches.

Sorry for not getting back sooner. Had a couple of family events which required all my attention since posting in Dec.
I got got an email response from LaCie who basically cleared their hands of the problem and said it was Intel’s problem; suck lovely Support!
I did take the advice of LWAKSMAN and ran the Intel drivers and reinstalled no drivers needed updating. I even installed a fresh copy of win 10 Pro and updated drivers and then reinstalled the Asmedia driver with the same results.
The LaCie Thunderbolt drive is a Thunderbolt 2 device and is connected via a Thunderbolt 2 => Apple Thunderbolt 3 converter. Wether the age of the drive and the conversion connection is to blame is something worth investigating..?
