I just purchased a NUC8i5INH which has the AMD Radeon 540x and Intel UHD Graphics 620 graphics cards.
When I playback 4K HDR content it only displays at 8 bit but should be 10 bit (or 12 bit). I wanted to find out why I'm only getting 8 bit.
I tried a 4K UHD HDR MKV file I ripped from a 4K UHD HDR disc (Skyfall) and also Netflix 4K HDR streaming, both of which play back as 8 bit on my Epson 5040UB projector. If I play the Skyfall 4K UHD HDR disc itself on my Sony 4K player I get 10 bit on the Epson.

Another question... The NUC8i5INH has a DisplayPort 1.4 connector and an HDMI 2.0 connector. If I want to use the DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.0 at the same time is this supported? I want to use the DisplayPort 1.4 to play 3K MKV MVC files to the HDMI input on my projector and SIMULTANEOUSLY use the HDMI 2.0 connector to get audio to my Denon X6300H A/V receiver. 3D MKV MVC files will only work if the content is kept HDMI 1.4 so to get the 3D video content to display I must connect the DisplayPort 1.4 directly to my Epson 5040UB (not go through the Denon X6300H which has HDMI 2.0). So in order to get audio for this setup I'd like to get it from the HDMI 2.0 connection. So when I only had the DisplayPort 1.4 connected to my Epson I did get 3D to display properly but I then connected the HDMI 2.0 of the NUC to the Denon restarted the NUC and the NUC wouldn't come up. So I'd like to get clarification of if the DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.0 can be used simultaneously like I describe or if I hit some kind of limitation.

To better assist you can you please provide the following information:
1. Intel® System Support Utility (Intel® SSU)
- Intel® SSU Download link
- Open the application and click on "Scan" to see the system and device information. By default, Intel® SSU will take you to the "Summary View".
- Click on the menu where it says "Summary" to change to "Detailed View".
- To save your scan, click on "Next", then "Save".
2. DXDIAG
- Go to Start > Run or Windows Key + R.
- On the Run prompt, type "dxdiag" then click OK.
- On the DirectX Diagnostic Tool window, click on Save All Information.
- Browse to a folder, type in a filename then click Save.
3. Intel graphics report:
- Intel® Graphics Command Center report.
- Open Intel® Graphics Command Center.
- Click on support.
- Click on the tab System Diagnostic.
- Generate report.
- Save the file.
- Upload the file to the thread.
Note:
There is already a request to allow users to manually select desired Color Depth via Intel® Graphics Command Center, but this is a work in progress with no ETA however it is in our Top priority list.

Hello WReib,
By any chance are you running AMD* Adrenalin 2020 Edition software which can be found here: https://www.amd.com/en/support/graphics/radeon-500-series/radeon-500x-series/radeon-540x and it allows more configuration options?
Please give it a try and let me know if you can select 10bit color depth under the display tab.

I installed it but it looks the same as the AMD Radeon Console I already had which I have a screen print of in my February 18, 2020 at 10:04 PM posting (second pic). I opened it and only has 8 bit as an option for Color Depth.

The Radeon console you displayed looks nothing like the other one you displayed at February 24, 2020 at 1:52 PM so are you using a different video card? different console s/w? because the latest screen print looks nothing like yours at February 24, 2020 at 1:52 PM which matches what my AMD Radeon console looks like.
My Epson 5040UB is capable of 10 bit and 12 bit HEVC.

I have more testing results, see my screenshot below and I also took a screenshot of the AMD* application that i am using: https://www.amd.com/en/support/graphics/radeon-500-series/radeon-rx-500x-series/radeon-rx-540x
The previous one is the same but an old version I just happen to have available on my USB thumb drive, the one I was using on Hades Canyon.
This time I tested a different TV Brand and Model and I am using latest AMD* Radeon* graphics application and drivers. The option to select between 8-bit, 10bit or 12 bit color depth was immediately available, I am also using a straight HDMI to HDMI connection.
