Hello...
I have an Intel NUC8i7BEH. I've been using dual 24 inch Dell monitors with my NUC using Debian 10 Buster for months without issue. I've recently purchased 32 inch Dell 4K monitors, S3221QS, to be used in dual like the previous monitor setup. When I power on the NUC, I get no video on both monitors at all. I can see the hard drive light on the NUC as if the computer is booting. When the hard drive light stabilizes out, with no video on either monitor, I enter the hard drive password. The login screen appears in what seems to be 4K. I enter my username and password and then no video on either monitor at all. I'm not so much interested in the 4K as I am setting the monitors to 2K. I updated the NUC's BIOS to the latest at the time of this post dated 6/21/2021. How do I get video to display on the monitors? Am I missing something or does my NUC not support the monitors I've purchased? Any suggestions would be helpful. Thank you.

Hello NUCuser
Thank you for posting on the Intel️® communities. Please share with us the following information:
- How do you connect the two monitors to the NUC? (cables/ports)
- As per Supported Operating Systems for Intel® NUC Products article, Intel doesn't provide drivers for the current OS you use. Can you test one of the supported OS with the latest drivers?
- Does this happen with the S3221QS only?
- Intel® System Support Utility (Intel® SSU) results
- Download the Intel SSU
- Open the application and select "Everything" click on "Scan" to see the system and device information. By default, Intel® SSU will take you to the "Summary View".
- Click on the menu where it says "Summary" to change to "Detailed View".
- To save your scan, click on "Next", then "Save".

David...
Thank you for the response. I don't use Windows nor will I ever again; Linux is the only way to roll. I presently have 3 computers that are hooked through a KVM to the 4K monitors and are working in 4K with no issues. It's only the NUC that's having an issue. All I did was change from 24" monitors to 32" 4K monitors.

Thank you for the update. It would help us if you can provide the SSU (for Linux) to check the status of the NUC. Also, if you connect a monitor directly yo the HDMI port, do you get the same problem? Which KVM module do you use?

David,
I use Debian 10 Buster. I'm not sure what you mean by SSU. I had the NUC connected to an IOGEAR KVM. I've completely disconnected the NUC from my network now. Does this NUC even support 4K monitors?

I have run two 4K@60p monitors simultaneously on this NUC, so of course it will work. I had primary 4K monitor connected through 4-port 4K KVM and secondary 4K monitor connected directly.
You need to download and run the Linux version of the Intel System Support Utility. You can download it from here: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/18895/26735/intel-system-support-utility-for-the-linux-operating-system.html.

Since I can't get any video to display on my 32" 4K monitors, I can't run the SSU with those monitor(s) connected to my NUC. I had to remove my 32" 4K monitor(s) and use the old 24" monitor to connect the NUC to and run the SSU. I'm not sure how well the output will look with the old monitor connected but at least I can see video with it to run the SSU.

After further investigation, you may be missing monitor firmware updates, Linux kernel updates and graphics updates. Since the old monitor works, this could be a compatibility issue with the graphics drivers and the Monitor firmware. Please check with your Linux distro for more details.
Please keep in mind that this thread will no longer be monitored by Intel. Thank you for your understanding.

That's too bad that this thread will no longer be monitored which means that Intel isn't interested in hearing my response to their "investigation". Since Intel isn't interested in hearing my response, maybe someone else might...
As far as I've been able to research, there are no firmware updates for the Dell 32" 4K monitors. There are Windows drivers but I will never use Windows ever again! There are no specific Linux drivers for the monitors.
I keep my Linux systems updated daily which means if there is a kernel update, it's applied. This also means that if there is a graphics update, it's applied as well.
I believe it just comes down to the NUC doesn't support these monitors and three of my other computers do. Odd.
