Intel Driver & Support Assistant showing new NUC8i7HVK AMD RX Vega M GH driver as of July 7 2022.
This appears to be AMD Adrenaline Version 22.8.1. The most recent version available at the time of posting this is AMD Adrenaline Version 22.11.1.
Attempting installation results in:
Attempted with the 'M GH' both as a 'Microsoft Basic Display Adapter' and 'Radeon RX Vega'.
The AMD Radeon Vii is connected via a Thunderbolt 3 eGPU.
I have attempted installation with and without the 'Vii' connected along with both in and out of Windows Safe Mode. The AMD Driver Cleanup Utility has also been used to clean any residual AMD drivers off of my system.
The Integrated Intel GPU has been disabled in system bios, however I have tried enabling it and trying to install Intel IGPU drivers first (which is another pain in of itself). The AMD installation still gives Error 182 regardless of what I attempt.
Windows 11
I have not been able to install proper drivers for this device since moving to Windows 11. I suspect the driver .inf is missing information for the 'M GH'..
I know these aren't brand new machines anymore, but they are still more than capable, and many in the wild. Can Intel please fix this driver fiasco? It's been how many years now in limbo? Just give AMD back the rights to publish configuration for this device in their official drivers!

Hello KKlouzal,
Thank you for posting on the Intel® communities.
I am sorry you are having issues installing the Radeon graphics drivers. I will be glad to assist you.
Please try a manual installation of the latest graphics drivers 22.10.17.01 for Radeon™ RX Vega M (https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/19269/radeon-rx-vega-m-graphics-driver-for-windows-10-64-bit-for-nuc8i7hnk-nuc8i7hvk.html), since it could be an error with the Intel Driver & Support Assistant.
Let me know of the outcome.
Best regards,
Steven G.

Hi @KKlouzal
Perform clean installation off your graphics drivers:
1. Disconnect your eGPU.
2. Enter BIOS and reset all settings to default: while in BIOS click on F2, confirmed by "Y" and then F10, confirmed by "Y". NUC will reboot to Windows. The IGPU should be always enabled.
3. In Windows open Device Manager and right click on each graphics Driver. Then click on "Uninstall device" (check the "Attempt to remove the driver...).
4. After uninstalling all drivers, reboot your NUC.
5. Open again the DM and check in Display adapters that you see now Microsoft Basic Graphics Driver. If not yet, repeat para 3-5.
6. Download and install the Intel® Graphics DCH Drivers version 31.0.101.2111. Reboot your NUC.
7. Download and install the Radeon™ RX Vega M graphics driver version 22.10.17.01. Reboot your NUC.
In all the above instructions I'm making assumption that you have already the Intel® Chipset Device Software installed. If you are not sure, download and install it before starting the above.
BTW, on my Hades Canyon I have the above drivers installed with out problems. I have installed BIOS version 067. and Windows 11 Pro.

Appreciate the detailed steps here. I followed every step and still error 182.
I went back again and did it all over, attempting the installation in safe-mode (this time I ran the amd driver cleanup tool too).
Still error 182.
I decided to have a look inside the .inf and sadly my Radeon VII is not included in the driver package provided from intel.
So it looks like I can either have the M GH or VII installed (can't install M GH drivers anyways so it doesn't really matter).
I don't think I would care, the VII is superior to the M GH, the issue being I can't disable the chip in bios and as such would like correct drivers installed on my system.
EDIT: After reviewing the technical specifications of the NUC8i7HVK you can see that all display outputs on the device are not physically connected to the Intel HD Graphics 630 iGPU, that being said it is beneficial to disable this device in bios to decrease thermal output and decrease power usage of the system overall (better overclocking headroom). If you are using any of the onboard display outputs then you would want the correct, and latest, drivers installed for the M GH.
In the case of an eGPU this is exponentially more beneficial since thunderbolt 4 is essentially a pci express 4 link, rendering on your eGPU, transferring the rendered data/image back through the CPU, then again over a pci express 4 link over to the M GH to finally output one of the display ports is....painful....
Selectively choosing which processes are rendered on which gpu (in my case the VII or M GH) will yield tangible performance benefits. For example, explorer.exe and discord.exe renders on the M GH while an active game renders on the eGPU. Less has to transfer back across the thunderbolt connection and saves precious bandwidth on that interface.
It just goes to show why correct drivers are essential along with disabling the intel igpu.

Hello KKlouzal,
It seems the driver is discontinued, by any chance have you tried getting the driver directly from AMD?

Yes, of course I have tried downloading the driver directly from AMD. Official AMD drivers do not provide support for the M GH/GL as this was a partnership with Intel/AMD (as you already know) and Intel took sole responsibility for providing drivers on this hardware.
How can a driver be discontinued? I can still get drivers for hardware more than 20 years old. Something is wrong with the driver installation file provided by Intel.
Please either fix it or give responsibility back to AMD to include the M GH/GL in their official driver packages. Everyone who owns this hardware lives would be 1000% better off.

Many thanks for your reply.
In this case, you may try performing the clean installation of the 22.10.17.01 Radeon™ RX Vega M driver (https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/19269/radeon-rx-vega-m-graphics-driver-for-windows-10-64-bit-for-nuc8i7hnk-nuc8i7hvk.html), but without an internet connection. We always recommend installing this driver, and if it does not work, you should contact AMD to get another driver or for further support.
You may also try updating the driver using Windows update, and check if a driver that is digitally signed but not posted on AMD web page gets installed.
