My NUC is unusable, any activity freezes in windows 10 for a split second every 10 seconds or so, the mouse will hang, video and audio will pause, nothing runs smoothly. I have installed all the latest drivers, I have done a clean install of windows 10. please help!
thanks

I solved this issue by stumbling across the following page, apparently certain ports MUST be used when connecting multiple monitors
https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000005571/mini-pcs.html
The annoying part is that the 2 HDMI ports are on opposing sides of the NUC, making cabling messy, I have to get a miniDP to HDMI convertor to see if I can use 2 miniDP ports. But for now, I have both displays connected to an HDMI port and
the freezing has stopped.

update: this only occurs with two displays connected. I have a monitor connected to a miniDP port and my TV connected via HDMI. IF both are connected the freezing occurs constantly, whether I use the front or rear HDMI port. If I unplug either, the NUC works fine.

Have you updated the HVK bios? Have you run the IDSA to update your drivers?

I think Intel representatives owe us the truth about these issues.
But Intel staff admit to nothing.
They only post the most trivial advises.
The issue is much more serious.
