No HDMI audio and video flickering issues 8i7HNK1

i purchased a new Hades Canyon, and started using it today. Already I've encountered a few major issues, and I think I've seen threads from other people with similar problems.

Firstly, when using an hdmi output, the computer fails to recognize the television(or monitor, I tried both)as being available. The headphone jack works fine, but neither of the hdmi outputs seem to work. I've tried multiple screens as well as different hdmi cables.

Secondly, when attempting to watch a video, more often than not I'm seeing a large amount of video flicker. Videos streamed in iTunes are al,ost unwatchable because of this. Videos off of an external hard drive I have are better, but still not good.

I have Windows 10 home installed, and have updated to bios 40(the latest one I could find for this unit).

I had a similar issue where I could only power one monitor through the HDMI port in the back. I was able to solve it by making sure that the Radeon driver is active (it was certainly installed but was not active). You could check to see what display driver is active by going to the Device Manager and checking under Display Adapters. In my case, the default Microsoft Display driver was driving the displays and not seeing 2nd and 3rd monitors. The Intel utility on its website showed the Radeon and Intel drivers to have been installed but it doesn't show whether they are being used by your computer (perhaps a limitation of the tool). In Device Manager, under Display Adapers>Microsoft Display Driver (or something like that), I went to Properties>Update Driver>Browse Computer for Software and manually pointed to the folder that had the Radeon RX Vega driver. That solved the problem. Here is a link to the discussion ( )

I just tried using the intel driver and support assistant. Needed several updates, including one for the "Realtek HD Audio". Installed all of them, and now the red X has gone away over the speaker icon, as it's recognizing "Realtek Digital Output". However, I still have no sound coming through the HDMI.

There was also an update for both the Intel HD graphics 630, as well as the Radeon graphics driver...updated both, and still no luck with either the sound or the picture flicker issue.in response to your mention of using the Radeon driver for the Microsoft display driver, I honestly don't know what folder has the Radeon driver in it?

In my case, the folders were created under the Downloads folder. There should be a folder called This PC\Downloads\GFX_Radeon_Win10_64... or This PC/Downloads/NUC8i7HNB/GFX_Radeon_Win10_64....

Ok, one problem solved. The screen flicker during videos is now gone, thanks to doing what you suggested. It also now recognizes that the hdmi audio output is there. However, I still have no sound coming through.

Have you selected through the windows audio dialogue the hdmi output?

More specifically is this a TV or Receiver you are plugging into?

Plugged directly into the tv, no receiver in between. When I click on the speaker icon in the tray, it shows that hdmi output is selected and at full volume. Just no sound comes out.

I have not tried to plug in to a TV over HDMI and send audio over HDMI yet. But I do have this driver in my setting. Do you have it installed and is it active?

AMD High Definition Audio Device

I wonder if it sends audio over the HDMI port when AMD chip is used to power display. The driver version is 10.0.1.6.

I have that driver in addition to the Intel Display Audio and Realtek High Definition Audio.
