Nuc BOXNUC6I7KYK3 skull cover

I recently purchased an used Intel Nuc(i7-6770hq). But, i noticed it hasnt got a Skull cover, instead it has a regular cover. Anyone who knows if these Skull covers for this specific nuc are seperate for sale?

Well,  when new, it comes with both.  So, I would ask the seller to give it up as a keepsake and give it to you.

Not through Intel. You could try contacting 3rd-parties like Go-Rite (https://www.gorite.com) or SimplyNUC (https://simplynuc.com) to see if they make replacement lids. There are also enthusiast groups that have created 3D-printable lids.

A quick check yielded some of these lids as being for sale (example: https://www.ebay.com/itm/274557308515).

printing your own case is interesting, but how about the light? isnt the skull light integrated in the lid?

There is no skull light on your nuc.

Yea, only the Hades Canyon (NUC8i7HNK, NUC8i7HVK) NUCs had a lit Skull. In these, the lid uses translucent material that allows the light from the LEDs on the board below to pass through it.

Skull Canyon came with two lids, one that had the Skull picture on it and one that didn't.
