Nuc + Receiver - no center audio

Currently running the following setup on my new nuc

NUC7i3BNH on Windows 10 Pro

Yamaha RX-V483

I have updated bios, drivers, everything, but I cannot get my center speaker to work. If I run the "configure speakers" test it is able to chime the center speaker, but when I try to play any media no audio comes out of the center speaker. I am at my whit's end with this and cannot find a solution.

Any advice?

Hello mitsitsad,

Thank you for joining our Intel ® Community, I will help you further with your issue.

In this case, please provide me the report generated by our https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/Intel-System-Support-Utility-for-Windows-Best Intel® System Support Utility for Windows*

To attach a file, you must click the "Attach" option on the bottom right-hand corner of the response box.

Let us know, when did the issue start?

Is the issue happening only with your NUC7i3BNH?

Does it happen with a different computer/system?

Have you performed any Windows* update recently?

Based on the https://usa.yamaha.com/support/updates/rx-v483_rx-v583_rx-a660_htr-4071_htr-5071.html Yamaha's Website, you can check the unit's firmware to make sure that you do not have to perform any update on it, if your firmware version is 2.58 or higher; the AV receiver is already up-to-date, if it is not, please go ahead and install it using the link above.

On the remote control, press the SETUP button.

Select "Network" > "Network Update". Your current firmware version will be displayed on TV.

I hope to hear from you soon.

Regards,

Diego S.

I just set this system up, so it has been this way since inception

Bluetooth, other sources, etc stream through all channels - it is only the nuc that is giving me an issue

Windows is up to date, no updates have caused it to work or stop working

Yamaha receiver firmware is up to date.

Like I said, when I configure the speakers in the Intel HD Audio settings it does chime the center speaker, so it is aware that it is there. but any other audio, even just adjusting the volume chime, no audio comes through the center channel

Let me know if this helps solve the issue

I did some research and found a solution last night. I think one of the problems lies within Windows 10, where 5.1 audio and stereo audio settings are reversed. I switched my setup to "stereo" and it was better. I then messed with the scene programs on my Yamaha receiver and was able to get center audio full time.
