Hi! I find my laptop quite hot while Idle. It gets so hot when actually working that i cannot touch some parts of the laptop.

I have seen some post related to thermal issue but not many answers, except Bios recovery.

The fans seem to work, the room is not hot, the surface I am working on is ok...

Do you have any suggestion?

How Bios recovory could help me ? My bios is up to date so i don't get what could go wrong with that.

thank you

PS :

Hello Emile,

Thank you for posting on the Intel® communities. I am sorry to know that you are having issues with your laptop.

In order to better assist you, please try the following:

1. When did the issue start?

2. Does the unit shuts down after a while?

3. Do you get a blue screen of death?

4. Have you tried different fan settings in the BIOS?

5. Is there any obstructions in the fan vents?

6. What is the brand and model name of your laptop?

Best regards,

Hello Deivid,

1) It's a brand new laptop, so it has happened since the day 1st. I have installed the intel laptop kit and Windows 11 pro twice, still the same.

2) no shutdown for the moment, I always stop the computer when it's too hot for my convenience

3) no blue screen

4) i have no fan settings in the bios. BTW I have seen this suggestion many times on forums, yet people said they do not have any fan settings in their BIOS and neither do I. The only fan settings I have are those in Intel Studio NUC. The maximum fan speed i have witnessed is 1436, and the 2nd fan doesn't do much, but maybe it's because i don't use the GPU much. My bios is up to date.

5) I have not checked, i ll, but i do not think so as it's just out of the box. If i try the benchmark mode they go up to 5000 rpm, so i think they are fine.

6) My nuc x15 does not have any brand. the model is LAPKC71F

PS :

I have uninstalled UniwillService and NUC Software Service and temperature is better. I have installed it back, temperature raises. Settings are default. Probleme with that : I do not have lighted keyboard, I do not have performance mode button working.

Hello Emile,

If I may jump into the conversation, I want to confirm if your device is on a hard flat surface or in a material that may not dissipate the heat. Also, you mentioned you have not checked if the Fan vents are obstructed, so I recommend checking if they are not obstructed to the correct airflow in the system.

Also, please create a report using the Intel System Support Utility (Intel SSU)

• Download the Intel SSU (https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/18377/25293/intel-system-support-utility-for-windows.html)

• Open the application and click on "Scan" to see the system and device information. By default, Intel SSU will take you to the "Summary View."

• Click on the menu where it says: "Summary" to change it to "Detailed View."

• To save your scan: click on "Next"; then "Save."
